I would expect that if the dealer finds it defective, it should be covered. I don't think the IAC is a "normal wear and tear" item like tires or brakes.

Yes, it will be under Acura Care extended warranty. I would say No on the loaner. Acura is getting cheap with the dealer, they don't give out loaner as easily as they used to.

i see, i got my 3rd tranny installed and next day my car started to crap out. first thing went through my mind was, oh no another tranny problem, but this was not the case as my dealership told me that it was my iac valve. i have 68k on my cls and they told me that iac valve replacement was not cover under warranty but however they will fix it for good will. as i was driving away i thought, dont i still have powertrain warranty til 100k? what covers under powertrain warranty?

Unless you PURCHASED an extended warranty, the only thing you have is an EXTENDED transmission warranty to 100K. If they're doing the IAC for n/c ... I'd get my a$$ down there ASAP and let 'em do it. The powertrain warranty covers most of the engine, tranny, and drive system but that expired at 4 years or 50K miles.
