A warning on using Meguiar's Gold Class Leather Conditioner with perforated leather

Just a note of caution here. I'm not sure if I got a bad bottle of the stuff or what. I picked up some Meguiar's Gold Class Leather Conditioner & Cleaner the other day and applied it to my seats. As usual, some of the conditioner got in the little holes of the perforations but I figured it would go away like with the Armor All conditioner that I'd used in the past.

Nope.

Came out to my car yesterday morning and found a bunch of patches of white dried conditioner in the perforations. Needless to say, I spent about 45 minutes last night with the small end of a toothpick ever-so-carefully scraping out the dried conditioner.

Comparatively, the Meguiar's stuff is substantially thicker than the Armor All, which is why I think it dried out in the holes instead of just soaking in like usual.

It worked great on the non-perforated side bolsters though. It went on a lot more evenly than the Amor All.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? Anyway, I just wanted to give fair warning so that this doesn't end up happening to others.

Use the Gold Class Spray... You won't have that problem.

I tried the goop shit and I was sick of picking the crap out of the holes. Their spray does as good, if not an even better job on our seats, because you're able to apply the shit and not worry about having to spend two hours picking the stuff out of the holes.

Thanks for the tip. I've got to detail my car soon (5300 wither miles, so she needs it) and was looking at either the Meguiar's or Lexol leather products.

I switched over to the spray too... so easy and probably just as good.

When I do mine with the ZAINO stuff I always apply it on the NON-Perforated areas of the seat first like the sides.
After the bulk of the product is off the cotton pad I then wipe a light coat over the holes.
If I continue to wipe lightly over the “holes”, any conditioner that gets caught in there comes right back up onto the applicator and is reapplied onto the leather.
I haven’t had a problem yet doing it this way.

if u use Zaino, u WON'T have clogging of the pores

as for the Meguiar's, yeah i learned the hard way also since i used the Gold Class stuff 1st on the seats...when it dried, the only way i got it out was to use the vacuum cleaner with the round brush atachment and stab at the seats HARD...like bang the bristles into the perforations...that did the trick for me
