I don't know if other Volvo dealerships are doing the same thing, but Darrell Waltrip (NASCAR legend) owns a Volvo dealership here and he's having an autocross challenge. He will set an autocross time and if you beat it they donate $100 to some charity. Too bad I'll be out of town because it sounds pretty cool.

I sat in my friend's V70R....totally awesome car. I'd say it's the new best $$$/fun/practical/luxury car out there. I was never a fan of volvo interiors, this one is sweet. HE loves the car, and he's coming from an S4 that runs low 12's. Definitely worth checking out. An S60R/V70R with chip and some mods that open up air flow will be close to 400 hp. Volvo service is supposed to be very good as well.

most of the chips currently being looked at (by IPD and others) are only talking about hitting around the 335hp range .... largely due to the suspected inability of the GT (auto tranney) to handle the power. in fact, there is a huge controversy right now about whether or not GT S60/V70 R's are hitting anywhere near the claimed 300 hp as it is, and Volvo is taking the position that it is within "x"% of the claim and therefore they aren't really listening.
