Volvo S60R: First dealer Visit
Ok I droped by the local Volvo dealer to check on the latest on the Volvo S60R...
In Short, I saw the base S60 but not the R as they are not produced yet. Expected to hit the dealer in May 2003... Pre-order list is active now...
Here are my impressions.. The car would be Very Hot... Competitve and very good value... Better ...the V70 is very enticing as a buy... huge wagan space and 300 HP AWD!! weigh only 120 lbs more than the sedan.
The Salesman wanted to work with me so I can put a refundable deposit on the car... still debating the S4, S60R or MPS RX-8 all north of 300HP... At the end, the sales manager jumped in to answer any questions... I specifically, asked how this dealer is mod-friendly.. Do you mind a chip-mod.. he said no
... We do it ourselves"... But he mentioned that "more elctronics" would void warranty... like a remote-starter... 
... I stressed that I am buying this car to be modded!!
I had to watch a DVD video of the S60R (I wished I could have had a copy, it was very impressive) I only got 1-page photcopy of the basic info.. they had a salesman guide that I could not snqueak out either...
THey promised to mail me more marketing info once they are available.

Base Price for the S60R: $36,825 for the wagon $38,325
Destination Charge: $685
Metalic Color: $450 ( most colors are metalic )
Options:
Premium Pack: Moonroof and Premium Audio 4-CD in dash Pro Logic Audio system: $1995
Touring: Grocey bag, laminated side windows, Rear 12V outlet, and interior air quality monitor for $495
Climate Pack heated front seats and rainsensor for $350
18" Pegasus inch 235/40/18 instead of the 235/45/17 for $995
tan Softleather called ATACAMA for $1495
NAV system, Whole North America DVD 6.5" for $1895
On-CALL Plus, 1 yr sub, $835
Integrated Child Boosters $300
I selected Premiumn PacK + Climate Pack + NAV and ended at $42,200
All in all, this car desrves another visit... test drive in order...

I mentioned it another thread, but IPD will not have anything for the S60R and V70R until at least a year after introduction (engine wise).
I'm either getting the S60R or S4, just don't know which.
