Value of 2003 CL Type-S, 6-Speed with 42K miles?

I'm considering selling my baby. I bought her new in 2003. She is a Type-S in anthracite, non-navigation, with 6-speed manual. Currently I only have 42,900 miles on the clock. She has been pampered for the last 8 years. But now I'm considering purchasing the latest generation TL with the manual transmission. Any ideas on a fair price?

I would not sell that car. It's your choice, this is not a educated price suggestion. I would take no less than 10-12K with that amount miles. Just my opinion.

yea i think we're getting to that point in the lifespan of our cars where there are so many auto's and beat up used ones, that devalue the marketprice that it's hard to get a good return on one that is actually in good condition with low kms.

i say 11K

Even more realistic is 8-9K. That's all it's worth. Even with low miles. No market, manual trans, discontinued model, & 8 years old. If the right buyer came along you could get more. Post it for sale in the BM section.
Did you see what Acura would give you for trade? Some dealers have some good deals if you upgrade to a newer Acura model & trade in an older Acura model.

get the timing belt done and don't take less than $9500-10K.

It's a rare car and the nicest colour I think (little biased because I own one) I would hold off for top dollar for 10-11k for the right buyer, whats a better car for that price range? In Canada that is not sure in the US.

It would sell for 11-12k easy in Texas. Up north they don't bring as much.

it is definitely a rare gem, but only to a select few who know about it. your best bet is to post it in the BM and wait. if you are patient enough you may find a knowledgeable enthusiast that will take it off your hands for top $$$ considering it is in mint condition.

If you have babied it for so long why sell it now? seems like practically a new car.

10K IS AN ALL AROUND GOOD PRICE.

It also makes a difference on the mods on the car.
if it had comptech headers, and intake and suspension. it would be a solid 10-11 in my opinion...

$10k is a good deal. I think you guys who are talking prices haven't been shopping recently. The used market on anything japanese has shot through the roof. The closest thing I found to what this guy is selling was a 6MT with 75k miles for 11.5k

Hell, I have a dealer account on the manheim auction sites and 03 CLSs go through for 7-7500 dealer prices regularly now. I think if you can get a clean CLS in the 8-8.5k range, you are doing well for yourself in this red-hot used car market we are presently in.

Don't know if you read the first post, but he says he wants to upgrade to something else.

Used car market is hot right now , prices went up 30% since bottomed in dec 08. You shouldn't have a problem selling it for 10 k ... maybe little lower since it is manual .

It also makes a difference on the mods on the car.
Only to a buyer that wants them.
I tried to get a price from carmax for my car. They told me if I took off the mods & put it back to stock they would give me more $ for it.
It's also a vast regional area difference in selling used cars. Some areas are high some are lower. In FL no one wants a small 2 door car with a stick. But if I had a auto TL it would sell in a sec.

Werd. Low mileage doesn't make that much difference on non-collector car or cars that aren't very desirable. As others have said, even with low miles, it's still time for a timing belt, water pump, etc.

put it this way, you know you pampered the car and the car is in great shape, you'll never see that money, time, and care that you put into it and with the rarity atleast in my area of CL-S 6 speed .. keep it

I would love to get a car with new bells and whistles, too. But I would keep it, sounds like your's is close to perfect. Take the car note money, put it in a nice vacation. But if you must, no less than 10Gs.
