I second Thin Jim's comments on the alternator pulley. Don't waste your time with the stock kit. I might even consider waiting for the IC kit and do it all at once,.... who am I kidding,... Install that bitch right now!

Chap,

You must be one happy dude right now. Contrats on the new Arrival.

The 26th? That's two weeks away. I don't know how you're going to do it. How many boxes did that thing come in?

BTW - I'm hoping mine arrives today or tomorrow also. I'm not as organized as you and not going as far as you.
1) I've already got the tranny cooler in.
2) My Optima arrived yesterday
3) SC shipped yesterday and hopefully will arrive today or tomorrow.
4) Mugen mod parts are due in next week.
5) Not sure if I'm doing gauges. Want low profile.

You're lucky that the HBP is an easy option for you since you have good gas. I think you should go for the HBP

You're going to want to keep an eye on the fuel pressure,... and a boost gauge may be the only way for you to see if your belt is slipping.

As far as your lower octane fuel goes,... Scalbert's IC can help there,... don't give up, there's always HOPE! More Boost = More Fun!

Too cool. Best of luck to you sir. You should mod the car, tune it, dyno it and everything. Then look in the paper for some old used $10 tires. Finally, go to the track for the sole purpose of melting them off the rims in a 30 foot burn-out ;-)

Appreciate the info and advice man. There really is no doubt anymore that the HBP will be going in over the stock on. Just pondering it for warranty sake.

I like the look of half black/silver blower on some CLs. I've got some time till the install so I might do that.

I meant Monday the 23rd of this month. A week from Monday. Either way it's still too long a wait.

It came in a total of 3 boxes. The biggest weighing about 59 lbs. and it contained the blower unit itself plus most of the small accessories.

The 2nd one was about 8 lbs. and contained the new radiator hose and Icebox Kit. (Which I already have)

3rd was about 2 lbs. and contained the new fan shroud.

When the UPS van pulled up I bolted out of the house and before he even got the blower box out of the truck I was standing at the back of the truck.

Let me know when yours arrives and what your plans are for install.

Hey, where did you get the pillar mount? Nobody makes one for the TL, so I'm gonna get the CL one and modify it a bit.

It seems Comptech updated their kit to include with the ESM, 2 pairs of solder tubes. It also now says specifically in the instructions to solder all ESM connections.

I'd imagine this in light of all the problems people originally had with the clips Comptech used to send in their kit.

Earlier S/C owner correct me if i'm wrong.

I'd love to get a dyno and track run in before the kit goes on but I don't think that’s gonna happen.

That key chain you hooked up was my first mod to date. Still holding up like new.

You are correct... they (CompTech) had to do the solder update on my ESM when I brought my car to them. Were the crimp type terminals missing from the kit?

It's nice to see that CompTech does listen to their customers and improve their designs.

Nope, no sign of them. Plus they're not listed in the instructions at all.

I do to. If you do paint it, let me know how you do it and how it comes out. I'm interested in painting the body black also but not sure what's involved.

Thanks for posting the Pics of your stuff. It's got me all wound up.

I think my problem had allot to do with it, Comptech kept my car for a couple of days and confirmed that soldering fixed the problem. Glad i could help

I've got the Thermostat, Fan Switch, and Radiator cap coming. Supposed to help keep motor cooler and closer to 180 degrees F. Thermostat opens earlier and fan switch signals the fans to come on sooner to keep coolant more consistent. I've seen posts that it can add anywhere between 0-7hp? Figured since I've got to drop the coolant, I might as well do this mod at the same time - couldn't hurt

Getting it through Dean at Speed Distributors.

Chap, I would hope for a better time than 13.6-13.7. I promise you my car will reach 13.99 NA. I just got my newly mapped unichip back and it runs AMAZING. Whatever they did with this map, they did right. It pulls extremely hard. Crank pulley goes on Monday

I doubt you'll even get a 13.7 though on stock tires. Once you switch to rubber that actually sticks to the ashpalt without erupting in a cloud of smoke, I bet you will do 13.5ish. unless you are amazingly easy and skilled with working your gas pedal off the line

13.5 would be great but i don't believe any S/C CL has it that yet. Time seem to vary a lot though. One guy ran with heavy ass 18's or 19's on and he still hit a 13.6 We'll have to wait and see what happens...

New rubber will come once Spring rolls around. I'll be on the stockers through fall and winter though.
