Just spoke with Allen - nice guy willing to take time and answer a couple questions
1. The unit will not be able to adjust shift points in the auto.
2. He expects around a 25 whp gain with CAI and catback - He says that they have dyno sheets confirming this.
3. It will be out in a month or so
4. Everything else Types1967 has said is true - And yes, do call im because they do want to hear from us.

BTW.....707 area code is North of San Francisco, most likely in a town called "Santa Rosa". It is along the coast North of San Francisco about 75 miles. I used to go to a town up in the mountains called Guernville where the HUGE Redwood trees and wine vinyards are in California !

Happy CL-S Pilot
The original chip never worked with the CL-S ECU. At one time they were redesigning the chip. I am still doubt you would do a see a 25 WHP gain by a flip of a switch!
Only Time will prove me wrong.

i told you guys you would see nice gains from this chip.ill be in touch with allen and nashua why are you always negative about everything?im glad to help you guys out as well as myself who really appreciate modding your cl and always looking for improvements even if the chip cost 900 its worth it.hell you get 25 out of headers for 1100 plus install.modding is expensive so how fast do you want to go is how much your willing to pay

Has anyone agrranged for them to use thier car yet? I hope we don't let this go. 25 WHP is a lot, if you ask me. But I am not a doubter until I see facts one way or the other. I hope it is not too expensive.

Okay
Via my phone conversation w/ Eric (typeS1967), he was telling me that UNICHIP has dyno's & shops within the tri-state area. So you will need to purchase the chip, go to their dyno shop and have them install it, map it w/ a dyno. Hopefully the cost will let you be able to come back and get the chip mapped/tuned as many times you like w/ each upgrade you purchase...Example: Headers and intake .... then you decide to get a S/C, so of course your going to need to go back and get the chip reprogrammed at no cost <----HOPEFULLY.
I think Eric can answer all your questions, but he really needs you guys to make that 5 minute phone call so the guy knows there is alot of interest and we can get a Super good deal on the price/group buy.

I just spoke with Allen. My only questions were about the programability. He stated that it would need to be sent back to them for reprograming. But I told him that I and
others (Type-R, Scalbert, AM2K) would be capable and very appriciative to be able to do the programs themselves. He did state that they would be willing to sell/release the software that would allow us to do so.
Now here is something that I don't take too kindly to, price. For the just the chip preprogramed...$700. Now that is alittle too much for someone who just wants more power. TO get that extra power from a chip $700 is alittle too much. BUT for some who want the ability to change fuel and adjust timing for $700+ is a damm good price. JUST AS LONG AS IT DOESN'T GET TO THE PRICE OF AN AEM STANDALONE.
Frankly for $700 they should ask if u would want the software for free. Cause really all the men who are gonna do thier own programing we're just gonna share the software . But no really it would be $700 for the chip and (really it couldn't be more than) $100 for a serial cable that would allow us to plug the chip to a PC.
OH FK I forgot to ask him if it would conflict with a VAFC . I guess Monday.

Please understand, this is NOT A CHIP, even though it is called a UniChip:
It is about the size of a pack of cigarettes and by intercepting and altering signals it can offset and somewhat control the fueling and timing.
But it is not an EEPROM or similar device which gets mounted or socketed on the ECU motherboard. That is something altogether different. This is an external and parallel ECU.

I only hope it will work with the 5AT.
I've allready been to the Unichip dealer in my area with my old LS-1, and a different re-mapping software, LS-1 Edit. I was very happy with the results, even on a N/A bolt on car.
BTW, remapping on the dyno could be another $500 easy! At that rate, make sure it includes some future considerations.
