Going up to Orlando was pretty fun this weekend.
First Race:
Im in the left lane going 75, I look in my back mirror and about 500 feet behind, a new black F150 v8 pulls out into the open right lane. Hes approaching easily at about 90. So as hes approaching, I downshift into 3rd, and gun it. By the time he was almost to me I just came on his speed of around 90. From there we went to 110 and I had him by a car or two. Guessing cuz he had the jump.
Second Race:
Same situation except Im going 70 in the left lane. An early 90s integra with exhaust and I dont know what else pulls in the right lane and wants to cut in front of me. I gun it as he starts to come by, when I was at around 85 I caught up, and then at about 110 I had 3 cars on him, he did a ricer flybye to around 130.
Third Race:
I was in the right lane, civic was in the left. I gunned it from 70-85 to give him a taste of the intake, since he had aem stickers all over his car. He then followed by doing the same. We both dropped down to about 75 and went to 100, where I had him by about 2-3 cars.
And damn so many cops out, I need a radar detector!

Dang dude you got balls..... first off, Orlando has two new cop cars..... one, unmarked brand spankin new f150 extended cab no lights on the outside. Two, brand new unmarked tan explorer again no outside lights. If you wanted to race so bad you shoulda come out to Orlando speedworld last night. They have quartermile drags, mud bogs, and last night they did monster trucks, and tough trucks(I did this with a 75 lincoln boat)

shit man, i was in orlando for halloween horror nights. But they have unmarked cop cars and shit...now I wish I knew that. When do they revoke your license... after what speed?

whenever you are engaged in a "street race" a license suspension is sometimes deemed appropriate by the cop based on the circumstances

since when do people trying to pass you suddenly count as races? generally in a race someone honks 3 times or revs or something to at least acknoweldge that "hey I'm gonna run my car as hard as possible to see if I'm faster than you"...

just you gunning your car isn't a race. basically you're just being a prick and not letting people pass. I'm glad I don't run into drivers like you on the road.

Its a race when they are gunning it and I am. You dont beat a F150 to about 110 by only a car or two if he wasnt trying to race, he could have just cut right behind me as I sped up. Plus the civic was a set race, no one was trying to pass, and the integra...well I cant stand those ricer boys, gotta not let them pass. Chill out, its not the end of the world if I dont let them pass, its not like they had thier signal on and people were holding them up in the right lane, if they did not want any they could have just pulled in right behind me.

I don't know the whole story but based on this infomration I do see a problem. You are driving in the left lane!!!

Regardless, if I am on the highway and someone is in the left lane requiring me to move right to pass and then they gun it, that would and has pissed me off significantly.

But that is the problem; you don't know if they want to have a friendly run or are just being an ass.

If I was in the right lane and someone pulled up to the left, slowed down, paced me and then took off; that is a clear indication to race. But in this case he was blocking the passing lane, cars had to move right to pass, and he sped up to disallow the pass. That can be interpreted multiple ways.

I agree with Scalbert. Very few things piss me off more than someone holding up the left lane and then when you try and pass them they speed up. It only pisses me off when there is some traffic. If no traffic then I just take it as an invitation!

If someone is coming on my six quickly I usually move if I am in the left lane and let them pass.

I do on the other hand still agree with him, people trying to pass you does not constitute a race, and it does seem like you were being kind of a dick by not letting him pass. Ever think about letting him pass and then pulling up beside him and revving? Just a though.

what you dont understand is the right lanes were totally opened, there was no need to pass, therefore the guy saw I was catching up to speed fast as he was just going fast in the right lane (got out of the left cuz it was too slow for him evidently) and if he didnt want any he would stay normal speed, but you dont get a guy getting up to 110 barely trailing you without racing.

Then why were you not in one of the right lanes?? The left lane is for passing only!!! There is a reason for the signs: "Keep Right Except to Pass"...
