4k? I think performance wise it could use a cleaning. I had been looking around for the kit, but I think only Comptech sells it. The kit is bigger than it looks and will yeild at least two filter cleanings. I think that it was worth the money, but the shipping was high.

Where is my super sauce?
Also look for the UNI kits at motorcycle performance shops. I'm not a motorcycle guy, but from what I can tell, there are a lot of foam filters available for motorcycles (including the UNI brand) and a lot of cleaning kits available for them.
For whatever reason, when I went looking, all the local shops were out of UNI kits so I ordered mine from Comptech online too. I was too gunshy to purchase a non UNI foam filter cleaning kit, but I'm sure any foam filter cleaning kit would have done fine.
I asked, and neither Comptech or UNI would commit to saying that the K&N cleaning kit (easily available at any auto parts store) is OK to use on foam filters.
Does anyone know what type of cleaner and what type of oil is contained in the various kits (K&N, UNI, others)? Somehow, I would guess the ingredients are commonly available solvents & oils.
