The Ultamate Ghetto Box/ Dual Ram Air/ Pics

Thanks to the idea of cltypeSLOW and Louie11.

This mod is actually true to his saying, and I spiced it up a bit with dual ram air. I have the 2 vents sealed to the tubing cltypeslow used so all the air that goes in lets say at 90mph. There is 90mph cold air shooting into the intake. And the differance in raw WOT is a major differance. From 60 to what ever you want is nothing but go! And I mean you can feel the pull back the whole way through... Not as tramatic as a turbo, but the way it feels when you floor it in 1st is the way it feels through every gear.

It is a little to ghetto rigged for my liking but I like the results! Not sure how long Im gonna keep it. Im lookin for and AEM CAI. I feel bad for doin this to my baby. Enjoy!

I think this is a great idea. To bad comptech din't make the ice box like that to begin with. Now if only some one could find a way to make it out of hard black plastic tubes like comptech. If some one made alot of them and became a vendor i think they would be rich. HINT HINT

It's really not that bad guys... I would have probably stopped at removing the intake resonator and running a black hose to the drivers side bumper garnish (or whatever it's called).

I'm gonna do the same thing but instead I'm going to run the hoses to my brakes so when I do my road racing my brakes will stay cool and never fade. I figure I'll out brake Elises and Z06s @ 90 mph.

I dont understand how some of you people have enough money to drop on a CL, but then dont have any cash to do shit right. I dont care how it performs @ 90mph, that looks terrible.

Even though I don't see this mod in my future, I say good job. I like seeing people trying new things (right or worng). I personally am always looking for new ideas on here and its people like you that may just keep me interested in my CL and its possibilities.

ahaha here's my take for the third time. aem is less power than icebox, but i like aem b/c of the sound unlike the quiet icebox. but they're around the same price $250.

now ghettobox: if u remove resonator there's this humming sound (most annoying is at idle). so u add tubing to get rid of it and get more direct cold air.

what i'm saying is OF COURSE i'd rather have aem, but its not free like this mod (without tubing).

i bet if tubing wasn't added, no one would say anything about how "ghetto" this is, but once u add tubing it's game over.

aem>ghettobox in performance
aem>ghettobox in looks
aem>ghettobox in costs

Its sad, but CL's can be had for cheap nowadays.

As for the CAI, with all the piping that thing looks like a Hookah. That gives a whole new meaning to smoking someone in the CL.

Its not really "ghetto", just something more economic and temporary, its not like u were gonna keep it on there forever, lol. Good job nonetheless And keep us posted on how you will like the AEM, and a comparison to your custom intake.
