ugh..hit the curb

Stupid mistake, looking down to get my badge for the security gate @ work. Took the turn a tad fast and bam...left front wheel rode the curb for a complete rotation, its all sorts of shredded. I guess i'm lucky the tire isn't flat.

No luck searching or going through the tire/suspension section....are the stock 2003 CLS wheels available online somewhere? (if so, anyone know of a site) Or should I just suck it up and go to the dealer? I figure the wheel has got to be around 400, after labor for transfering the tire and balancing...looking at $500?. Haven't even had the car for 2 months...there goes my tint and half my header savings....ugh.

Search the black market. I've seen a full set of gunmetal rims go for about 500 or so there (actually on ebay)...

I hit my first curb when I was setting up my fathers funeral... Needless to say, that wasn't a good day

The first curb rash is always the hardest. I wear mine as a badge of honor now

I say screw replacing it now. Wait till you get a couple more dings....

Be patient, and eventually someone will have some forsale near you...

you could always try to find one from the salvage yard. try calling discount tire or something if you have them in your city. when they scratched mine, they claim they can get replacements one for cheaper than a tire (they might have been full of bs)...but my thoughts are they look for them at a salvage yard. good luck.

Go to a local shop that repairs alloy wheels. I know I have one right next to me. There is always some place that will take the rim and weld on some more material then polish it and repaint and it will look brand new. It should run you between $125-$200. I just did a quick search on Google and came up with these results: http://search.yahoo.com/search?p=all...F-8&fl=0&x=wrt Try these before you spend an astronomical amount of money at the dealer for one rim.
