Type S cat-back? Will it fit on an non S?

I recently purchased an 03 CL. I am looking for a cat back exhaust but all I can find is apps. for the type S. Will a exhaust for a type S fit on a non S? Are the hangers in the same location? What brands will bolt on to the CL non S and not sound like rice??

First of all, WELCOME TO THE SITE! Most aftermarket exhaust systems are pretty much compatible. If not straight up bolt on, it can be modified by any good muffler/exhaust shop to fit your ride. You can always go with the higher priced brands like Greddy, Tanabe, HKS, Comptech, etc etc...or go with Magnaflow, Flowmaster, etc etc if you don't want to spend as much...also check out the BM section to see some folks selling their exhaust and if not there, then check out our list of vendors at the BM as well...btw, where are you located?
If you're in the bay area, might wanna check out gc86's exhaust that he has on the BM....

Axle back exhausts will fit either Type -S or non Type-S but cat backs for the Type-S do no fit the non Type-S.

I would look at Comptech for a nice looking exhaust with a nice deep sound.

The only difference is the bolt pattern on the cat flange is slightly bigger. There may be enough slop in the holes so it'll just bolt on but My Comptech's only need to be elongated by less than 1/8". All the hangers, bends etc. were a perfect fit. BTW the Comptech B-pipe for the Type-s will bolt up to stock P mufflers.

Welcome. From what I recall, TL and CL axlebacks will both bolt up. The Comptech TL axlebacks are a bit longer than the Comptech CL axlebacks. They both fit the CL but stick out different lengths.
