Turned off car removed key and the RADIO WAS STILL ON
ok
so im parking my car and i shut the engine off and remove the key but the radio is still on
None of the lights on the dash lit up but the radio kept going
i put the key back in and put in on the ON postion and turned it off but the radio stayed on. Finally i just pushed the radio power button to shut off the radio.
That was very weird....

don't worry, that's one of the features of the car. the radio can operate for 10 min. after the key is removed and before a door is opened. the same goes for windows and sunroof.

Yeah, though we do have a "reserve power," it definitely does not apply to the radio. If you want, you can get it checked out, but I would probably wait and if it happens again, yes. It could just be a simple one-time electronic glitch.

My 2001 use to do that, when I had something plugged in the cig lighter in the dash. The radio would play as I was walking away from the car, maybe 20 sec or so. If I unplugged, it never happed

That is pretty nice. Maybe you should just not call anyone, depending on whether or not you like the "option." Personally, I think it's pretty neat.
Come to think of it, my mom's S430 also has it.

also i believe there are some cars that will have the radio on until you open the door. Like the ford explorers and cadillacs too
im just afraid that one day i will be in a hurry to get out of my car and it happens. Who knows how long the radio will be on? Maybe until it drains my battery

I had that happen to me two or three times!!! I figure since I can't reproduce it and the dealer probably won't do anything about it I just ignored it. Nothings is wrong with my car's audio system so far (I am completely stock), so don't stress over it.

Does it seem to work on a timed delay.
Here try this. Get in the car, put the key in, turn on the radio, now take out the key, BUT stay in the car. open the door, close the door, But still stay in the car. If the radio is still on after 10 secs. lock the door from inside with the key fob. If the radio then turns off then I would have to say that the radio works with the alarm.
Pretty cool.

my friends land rover freelander can play the radio without the key ever being in the ignition, as long as the doors are unlocked you can turn it on and listen to it i think for somewhere around 30min.
