Headers cost about $1k, and add about 30HP. A lot of people have that mod.
If they could get the same HPs for $70, they'd get it instead of spending $1k, right?
And Comptech wouldn't even try developing and marketing something that costs $1k if you could get basically the same gain for $70.
AND that is how I know that the turbonator or spiralmax or whatever is a POS and doesn't work as advertised. :P

Basically they are both **CHEESEY** fans that spin inside a cai/short ram tube under Wide Open Throttle ONLY. They claim upwards of 1lb of boost but realistically come nowhere near that figure. Scalbert or EricL actually did a great post on these devices and showed that it is physically impossible to create that much boost without drawing +~120Amps to the "little fan". They both also claim to create vortex's that create a more volatile air charge within the intake tract, but again impossible to do on universal application (especially with our dual stage intake plenum being in the way).

Long and short of it is ***MAYBE*** some miniscule gains under WOT but the actual fan in the intake tract slows intake velocity and restricts mass air flow into the engine under all other types of acceleration, thus hurting performance.

The only **TRUE** electric turbo/supercharger hybrid Im aware of is made by turbodyne (Turbopac 1500/2000) and requires 140AMPS to run for a maximum 12seconds. Translation: Takes more juice then our alternator can provide and lasts only 12 seconds before heating up to the brink of meltdown and requiring a cool off period before it can be active again. A great project for a 1/4 mile car but just a silly idea for a daily driver given the cost and tuning required for 12 seconds of boost in daily circumstances.

Originally those things were created to save big diesels and big V-8s gas mileage not increase performance. Yeah they noticed a 26 hp increase on a diesel engine in a dump truck. They werent meant to enhance performance or throttle response they were meant to give better fuel delivery, which it doesnt do that well. My roomate bought one for his 2002 Wrangler to increase his crappy gas mileage 18mpg and now hes getting 19mpg. So I figure eventually it will pay for itself in gas, but it adds no hp and essentially youll just add more weight to your car.

Also for the electic turbo super whatever chargers youd have to create approximately 1.3 lbs of boost to feel any gain or get any performance increase. So if it produces only 1lb of boost well its not doing anything especially since its only under WOT (wide open throttle) conditions.
