your idea is cool, but your execution is piss-poor. you built a turbo kit that makes "500+whp" out of ebay scrap metal parts. would have been nice to see this put together with some quality parts.

yeah well you go spend 1500-2500 on a garrett or turbonetics turbo. or 700-1200 on a greddy or ams intercooler. i have more torque than most people have horsepower. i got the turbo and intercooler for less than five hundred both brand new. only thing i didnt go cheap on was ecu. post your ride up when you get to my level. and your name says it all Cltypeslow.

HAHA just search for my car if you really want to see it. oh, and no i wont get on your level of buying bullshit parts off ebay and riding in a 4x4 CL that has no traction whatsoever. we'll see in in 6 months when all your shit falls apart cause the welds break on your megan racing headers.

edit: i forgot you are computer illiterate so i will help you out.

Did you happen to think about running a universal ems such as tec3r or ams ems(universal unit) to see if you can pull out a few extra ponies from your setup?

On the evo forums, there are a few peeps that have one of those fmic and they don't seem to have any issues.

Good luck with your setup and if you have the chance, please post up the dyno sheet.

Also are you running a dump tube off the wastegate?

me too, I got the pics, but i guess I was a little late. Can't wait to see her running. And if you are looking for BBK, try Rotora, Wheels, try us, and a nice kit, us too. then drop her some and call it a day.

Six speed or no, and navi? how many mils on her, and what color interior. i love White on the CL.

basically.

yea, your setup works, and i give you credit for putting it together. i still want to see the manifold design. but it sure as hell won't last you long especially on that kind of power. when the turbo seizes, it shouldn't be too hard to swap in a garrett with the right trim.

Why are some of you guys giving him a hard time? Regardless of however you feel that the parts are cheap and unrealiable, he has still put together a turbo system (which VERY few have ventured) which is different from the more common setups we saw from AllMotor and BlueCLS6.

I would think more members would take greater interest but you jerkoffs are flaming this guy whom may have potentially created a more powerful setup with lower quality parts. Take into account what power with better parts that this setup would yield.

Forgot the haters man, I'm certain there are a few of us that would like to see more info.

I'm with JBlueCLS6 on this one. One of my techs had a Civic hatch sleeper that was built with mismatched parts, he was putting 567hp to the wheels. Every one gave him a hard time about his set up, but when it came time to put their money where their mouths were and race his "green monster", no one could touch him, not even the big displacement V8 crowd.

His car would occasionally blow something (anything) but when you've got a motor tuned like a hand grenade, eventually somethings got to go. Thats where the passion to build something different than everyone else comes in.

My guess is that like with many things in life, getting there is half the fun. He probably enjoyed building it as much as he does driving it.

Yeah, most people are going to call BS when someone with ZERO posts comes on here and makes claims of 528whp and (has other members) post pictures of what looks like a far from finished project...

Heck, we even make LONGTIME members post scans of their ET slips or Dyno sheets to prove their claims, so why shouldn't this be any different ??

I'd like to see finished pics too before I become a beleiver...

I'm with the "haters" on this one...

I agree that dyno charts (or dyno video) or pics of a reassembled car would help prove the claims, but I wouldn't flame the guy because of the way he built his project, because of the parts he used, or because of where he bought them from.

i dont think there is. He kinda hook up the turbo after the exhaust, which is more interesting. You can put a much bigger turbo where it's sit right now, and it cools off much easier cause of the open area

nothing wrong on getting lots of power and saving money at the same time. If i have an option 7 years ago, i wouldn't buy Comptech headers...

There are way too many haters in this thread. It seems like lots of you have no appreciation for the time and effort it takes to fabricate a turbo kit. Whether or not he used top of the line parts is really irrelevent and takes nothing away from the difficulty of the project.
Mad props to rjurado for the custom build, hopefully he'll come back and post pics of the finished product.

I don't think its so much of people hating but people providing their opinions. At least thats what I see. It's not different then someone posting pics of their rims and someone saying that like them or I don't feel chrome.

Everyone to my knowledge has a right to their own opinion.

Exactly,

Regardless if he didn't post the Dyno sheet, he has still attempted to build a custom kit, can most of you giving him a hard time say you've done the same?

Yes I think those numbers are crazy but I wouldn't count out the possibility especially after posting pictures of his setup unlike some randoms making claims with no images to support his statement.

saying "hahaha, i got bigger balls, check it out!" and "you're a numbnuts on PC..." just ain't helping the guy to post his progress... ok i exagerated it a little, but sound like that to me

i myself will not believe it until i see it running, but, i encourage the guy to let us know what he have done to his car to make it run.

Thought I'd leave this well enough alone, but decided to respond. True, he did put in the effort & the time as well as the $$$ so I'd say give him the credit for that. However, even though some folks are a bit harsh on their feedback/opinions here at the site, it should NOT be taken personally nor taken out of context. This site has given me, personally, a lot of helpful info as well as provided me to meet others that share the same interest in our cars. With that said, MAYBE he might decide to come back & share his experiences, if not....well all goes on in the world....peace & good day to all!

I just want to see some more info on his setup. The possibility that someone put down more power is a hell of alot more interesting then someone posting up bling Bling Chrome Wheels. Thats personal taste and is opinion driven, can not be compared to a performance part unless its a Tornado or electric supercharger, which can be proven to benefit the vehicle with numbers.

Edit * And No I'm not saying Tornado and Electric Charger gives more numbers... this was directed toward his turbo setup.

giving your honest opinion is one thing. how you give that opinion and whether or not you attack their ride or workmanship is a whole other story. this forum DOES have a LOT of haters and skeptics. and yes, it would have been nice to see a dyno sheet and more pics and info, but shit went downhill so quickly (this thread WAS ONLY a day old), guess we'll never know eh?
