trouble with garage door opener

anyone ever have trouble getting the garage door opener in the car to work? mine has never worked, but it was never an issue as i didn't have an opener. now i do and can't get it to work. any tips?

reprogram it? mine works fine... it may be an issue with the brand of door opener, I doubt it's your car...

There are a number of steps outlined in the manual on how to program it. It works so just follow the steps outlined there.

Exactly.
And don’t forget…..once the Homelink system has “learned” your remote code, you still need to “teach” the new controller (the car) to your opener.
This usually means having an assistant up on a ladder pushing buttons on the motor of the door opener.

I did read the book when i tried it. I am sure it is my fault, just not sure what exactly i am doing wrong. I held up the remote to the homelink in the car while opening the door. but did not do the part you suggested shawn about the motor/homelink sync.

to stop the codes all you have to do is find the rolling code button on the garage door opener itself, as in the machine, and press and hold it for a min or so and you should be all good to go...
