Trip to the dealership tomorrow am, check this list out...

These are ALL the things wrong with the car. It has 38K miles on it.

1) Silver around gear shifter is peeling.

2) cup holder doesn't close all the way flush.

3) Weird creeking noise when turning the wheel.

4) rear view mirror dimming feature doesn't work at all anymore.

5) Power Steering Fluid is low. Not sure why. it's not leaking. Odd.

6) Rotors are WARPED AGAIN.

SO this is it.

For a 2001 car with low miles like this, i think it's total fucking bullshit, and I doubt anyone who owns a 2001 ESCORT has even had this many problems.

$30K for constant problems.

I'd trade it this afternoon for something else, but I have no clue what to get.

I'm just over it.

It also seems like I need to be a total ASSHOLE to get the dealership to do the warranty work on it.

I know they will give me shit about the rotors.

Sounds like you need a new dealer, or a different attitude.

IMO, the only REPUTABLE dealer is Park Ave.

Too bad it's too far for me to drive to.

LAST ACURA for me.

I had a civic for 2 years before this, and I didn't have one single problem! ! !

Acura has definitely LOST a customer after this car.

I think the biggest thing that pisses me off is the BULLSHIT runaround's I get from these dealers.

The first time my rotors were warped, they tried to get out of it, and told me it wasn't covered under warranty.
I had to cause a scene, and make the service manager look like a jackass to ALOT of customers to get something done. That's fine with me, I've never been embarrassed in my life.

Hopefully I'll have someone nice there to deal with tomorrow morning.

I had my rear view mirrow replaced ( same auto-dim problem).

What kind of a creaking noise you get when turning your wheels?
Mine whistles and squeaks, and in addition it sqeaks on my front driver's side spring when I shake my car.

I have to admit, that owning HONDAS since 1984 and having bought MY FIRST ACURA, the MAJORITY of the ACURA Dealership/Service dept. SUCK BIG TIME ! This could steer me elsewhere once I loose the love for my CLS.......I CAN RELATE !

I realize it's not their fault that we have problems, but they could at least try and not be so argumentative about what they will fix under warranty and what they won't.

And I can't even begin to count how many threads I've seen that CL owners talk about dealerships who won't cover the rotors under warranty, even though there's a fucking service bulletin out about it from ACURA themselves, saying that they ARE covered under warranty.

I'm taking it to Radley next time, thanks for the tip Nova...

Having PAA within 45 min. definitely helps... so I'm still undecided about purchasing another Acura. Depends what's available when I'm ready....

As for the problems... that is a long list. I was expecting a mod list when I clicked on the topic. Hopefully they'll just fix it for you no problems. Maybe you should take Nova's advice and try the dealer he recommended....

Take it to the Honda dealership. They can repair the Acuras too, provided they play nicer than your Acura dealer. Generally the Honda joint cares less about it since they are merely honoring the Acura warranty and invoicing the Honda warranty department.

My 2001 CL-S made the same exact noises, but it went away after my car was towed. Perhaps it had something to do with taking the load off of the front. Did you ever find out what it was? I'll be taking my car in for 30K service soon, so I would like to know what the heck happened.

you're not alone....
my 2001 has a new steering pump, new front seat bottoms, a 3rd passenger side seatbelt, 2nd instrument cluster and that's not to mention the plethora of "adjustments" for creaks, rattles and what have you

I haven't had any of the problems any of you stated, just the rattles and the door molding clip breaking and the molding starting to come off (dealer ordered a new one).

Hell, even the Gold color holds up well......hardly any chips on the nose.

But, I still am not in love with the car, the metal is so thin its a turn off. I feel like I'm getting in Campbell's Soup can everyday.

Beltfed!!Gold CL-I heard that that the gold ones were built with oil based base paint while all others are water based. Maybe that's why the gold is holding up so well.

Even they have some issues, but they do make good on them. Just make sure when you go in to tell them you are from the Acura boards
