Is this your post 2005 transmission, or you had it already replaced, and this is a new one that is doing that?

Depends how hard you step on the gas when going 50, if you really step on it (not even necessary to floor it), transmission is designed to downshift. And yes, at cold temperatures it does delay shifts,so RPM goes higher. Does it happen when its warm? If it does not happen when its warm I think its fine.

I am not talking about hard shifting I am talking slam as in slipping and this is under light throttle.......

These people brag about 2.5% failure rate like its unbelievability low. so lets hope this is the problem, and not the improved design fault

thats sucks, I hope its bad install and/or human error in the rebuild rather than a trend in a design flaw. I read statistics somewhere, than ALL transmission rebuilds are expected to have < 2% failure rate, and if you have less than 2% they even advertise it like a good rate.
