traded my cl-s today...

for a 00 RL. i save 800 per year in insurance, 130.00 per month on payments, and the balance of the RL'S loan is the same as my CL-S'S. i know some of you may feel it's an old mans ride but i like it a lot and you can't beat saving money. the quality of this car is so superior to the quality of my type-s.

please see the black market section for my apexi coilovers :P

details- the RL has 47k on it i paid 19,880 w/ warranty. silver w/ black interior. i must admit... the RL and the GS look good together.

What kinda gas mileage are you getting with the RL?

Is it much worse than the CL?

hey congratulation on the rl. a couple of months ago, my first gen cl was total in a hit and run. i got a 99 rl with 19k after that. its a much nicer car compare to my old car. its very quiet, and litterally no rattles. in the latest issue of jd power and associate magazine, they rated the rl as the most reliable car in its class. i believe that consumerguide.com also rated the rl as the most reliable car too. btw, i'm getting around 20-23 average mpg, but i do 70% freeway though. i got around 22-25 mpg on my old 3.0 cl. the bad things about the rl is that its soft and doesnt handle like our old cars, and it requires premium fuel. i tried 89 octane, and i hear engine knocks when accelerate hard. again, congratulation.

totally pimp...I had a 96RL w/ 18's, custom grill, Comptech Sways, Exhaust Tips only, custom intake, Crazy system...man everytime I drove that car I felt like a million bucks...smooth as shit ride even w/ the rims. Then I sold it to my sister who totaled it in three weeks...but then I fixed it...and then she crashed it again...excellent choice dbox.

Congrats on your new purchase.
However, I dont get it dude. Why do you need TWO family sedans? GS and RL although very solid, are also equally boring vehicles. I would not take you for a guy that does not like excitment judging by s2k and CLS.

What year is the RL?

RLs are great... however you shoulda gotten an old 4-door Legend... those things are beauties and have a timeless look.

o yeah, did I mention they're dirt cheap and last forever?

The RL is an awesome. If I didnt mind that lack power, I'd consider it as an eventual replacement for my Max; it does EVERYTHING else great.

i have 2 kids, i also did it to save money. the cl being in the shop most of the time made the decision even easier for me. i love my GS and the RL. i don't find either car boring. i sure would love to have an s2k to play around with though...

Now, your car wasn't in the shop most of the time. Only about half of the time. Wait a minute, that's still too much. Sorry, speaking before thinking. But now that you have a reliable car, don't forget to stop in from time to time to show me the mods.

you know what i mean, the cl gave me to many headaches. i will be at JOHN EAGLE ACURA once per week, like always . i don't think i'll be modding the rl, but i'll stop in and show you the gs for sure.
