track times from yesterday

yesterday i went to lapeer dragway for the 1st time, i;ve heard from alot of people that this track is a shit hole but i never really thought it could be that bad. oh man i couldnt be lieve what kind of place this was, no tech check in for the cars, only 1 guy runing the staging lines, you have to drve through the dirt and mud to the concession stand to get your et slips. you would expect the racing lanes to be pretty smooth but they had big bumps and it didnt seem to be level. no air machines @ the track either so i couldnt adjust my tires, on what i felt was my best run of the day when i got out th hole pretty good i went to get my slip and they had lost it , best time of the day was a 14.30@98

14.3 @ 98 is pretty good though. I averaged just slightly faster than that, like 1 tenth and 1 MPH before the blower.

Sorry to hear about the conditions Darrin.

I try not to go there if it has rained within a day or so, because yeah it gets muddy. I've never had them lose a slip tho, thats lame.

I'm at least glad to see that your mph & ET's are about where they should be, because I was wondering if my time was 110% correct.

I have a rain check from my last visit, dunno if I'll use it or not.

good runs Darin...

I made my first run at Milan two weeks ago in the snake. 12.82 @ 113... I wasn't thrilled, but wasn't too sad either. 2.01 60-ft...

Now I'm pissed, because I want low 12's or 11's... my car feels kinda slow. I guess over the winter I gotta get a pulley. =)

thats good for stock, with a few mods you'll be running very low 12's

That's the plan... I'm hoping for high 11's with a pulley and tire...

You're in a Cobra right? A guy at the track was running a different pulley (not sure of the end psi) and pulled a 12.03 @ ??? (116ish). His 60' times were much better though ... 1.8's. You have a roll-cage? You're gonna need it for 11's.

Some tracks around here let "modern" cars get away with an 11.5 prior to needing a cage.

Always seemed silly to me, bikes can run in the 8's with leathers and a helmet, but once we get into the 11's we need a cage? :wtf:

Darrin . . ya got to remember . . . a day at the track is better than a day at work . . regardless of conditions.
