spiroh,

Those times are amazing!!!

How are you trap speeds so high? I have never seen anyone here post 100 mph in the 1/4. The only thing I see in you sig that could be making a difference are the Denso plugs or maybe the Mugen exhaust (even though I know exhausts are not supposed to make that big of a difference). I have seen others with intake, headers & exhaust post 94 mph. Maybe you just have a damn fast car. Either way I am impressed. Congratulations. Get those tires & the RES with the same track conditions & 13's will not be a problem for you.

Good job, now get some light rims and drag tires and you should be the first high 13 sec CL-S.

You're my new hero. I can't beleive your times and speed, simply amazing.

This renews my spirit for next spring. I was hoping for low 14's myself, but as you can see in my sig I could barely break 15's with slicks (no headers/cai/pulleys.) My car feels alot faster now, so my goal seems attainable.

BTW - What's the track elevation if you know.

TIA, and congrats - Mack

Spiroh,

Those are best times for CL-S ever posted! Congrats..

The Best I was able to do with a CAI is 15.1 at 93 MPH.

Wow! 14.2x @100 MPH is excellent!

I am imoressed. You should take any Maxima or Altima for a launch once you get your RES and maybe RES#2.

How did you launch?

Mike,

Ken did not break into the 13s this day. When he used NOS he did. His times are awesome. His mph was 98or99mph.

I was trying to find what elavation the track was in. I think it might be 1000ft, I could be wrong though. My launching was TERRIBLE. I couldnt grip for anything. All of my launches were from idle, and I stil had major problems. I had to feather it a bit, just to get 2.29 60ft times. What I have noticed is our cars problems lies with the 60ft. If we could ever do constant low 2.2 high 2.1 60fts we would drop at least 2/10s. I was using the stock rims, and tires. Its time for a new setup. Im thinking of getting lightweight 17s for the front, when I go to the track. We'll see.

Man those are great times, i love the way the book says that we are 14.6 stock, what a lie. Question does your alternator lose power when the amp is on with the new pulleys you added?

I ran a 14.8 w/ intake. 14.6 stock is out of the ?. The alternator isnt that bad. I have 2 amps with a combined total of 2000w. The only time I get dimming is if I am bumping my subs hard. People without the pulleys get the same effect. I still recommend the pulleys.

I think the 40 degree temps might have been the reason for the 100mph trap speed. Damn good times though! Imagine if the humidity had been under 60%!

Oh yea!

And Spiroh - get some drag radials man! You'll love the way they hook. Best part of it is, they feel good driving on the highway to the track as well. By the time you get there, they're nice and warm!

Spiroh, Damn those are some awesome times. Get some better tires, you probably will be in the high 13's and really low 14's. That is one fast CLS. Congrats.

I have, what will probably be pinned as a stupid question. But I'm going to ask anyway...

Can you just go to a dragstrip, pay some kind of a fee and do some runs? My friend has a 330ci and we'd like to go have some fun, regardless of who has the faster car.

Thanks!

Great runs Spiroh. It gives us all hope. RES and MM2 plus some better rubber should easily put you in the 13s.

Spiroh have you tried running the car rich at the track, it should help somewhat, but I think you already do it there.

Bumping the A/F ratio "rich" is a value greater than stioch (14.x to 1.) That is 14 parts air to 1 part fuel. Stoichotomy (sp?) is the optimum A/F ratio for power, and economy. Running rich would be a value greater than that (say 12 to 1.) Spiroh can adjust these values with the V-AFC (VTEC-Air Fuel Controller.)

Great times...

Hint to 1/4 mile and dyno folks -- visit/test/make runs when the temperature is near freezing. (The CLS has a polar bear under the hood...)
