At the Track: New Tires > Old Tires

Went to the track yesterday for a quick run with the new tires. I only got two runs in but I did manage to achieve my best 60' time ever; 2.088. I went on to hit the rev limiter on 1 -> 2 but the rest of the shifts were clean, maybe a little early. The track temp was 65 degrees. I ran a 13.53 @ 106.4 MPH.

The next run there was water or oil in the staging lane and I spun like a mofo off the line and didn't even go WOT. I just chaulked the run up as a loss. Probably ran a 24.5 @ 65 MPH haha.

Hopefully I'll get out this weekend and make so great passes with the new tires

I didnt warm up my tires one time at the track, and i did a way too aggressive launch. I spun all of first, all of second, until i let off the gas pedal. I got the worst 60 ft. ever, probably close to a 3.0! Funny thing i just eased the rest and still ran a 17.x. THe ricer integ. thought he won though, put on his hazards too.

Congrats on the run though. This is exactly where these cars should be. The best ive run with your same setup is a 13.8 in 80 deg. weather and a 2.27 60. If i pull off a better 60 ft. and have similar temps as what you experienced, i think our cars would be dead even!
From now on, you can track and ill just claim your times too! j/k lol

These times are from Capitol Raceway. Unlike most people, I haven't had the same luck at MIR. My car hooks up better at Capitol Raceway than it does at MIR. Works for me, Capitol is much closer than MIR

Way to go Steve, had it been 45 degrees like three weeks ago you would have been there, like a 13.35 or so!

Okay Pay-per-View Fans!

What do you say to a winner take all here.

We have Allmotor, TypeR, Mattg, MrSteve, Seattle CLS . . . any others.

This could be double elimination or just single . . . who is the fastest

Then we need a post on the best 60' and reaction times.

Of course . . the big challenge would be to find a place we could all meet

So, if we could get someone to capture the track conditions and normalize things we could set a period next year for everyone to go out and post their times.

Waddya think?

We could have a regional event with some basic ground rules and have a judge at each overseeing it. We'd also need someone to capture the track conditions so the times could be normalized the best they can so we can compensate for various conditions.

Could be fun . . . let's start a thread on this and see what sort of response and other thoughts we get.

Regardless matching your best, nice 60'. Soon you'll run much faster
Once my installation (signature) done this year and motor breaks-in that would be my goal to get 2.0 or faster next season (April).

Slow . . . last time I checked you were the fastest in our little neck of the woods. :P

So with that 150 shot you are probably up to by now would be a contender.
