Track Day: Best 60' ever for CL-S? Best ET ever for S/C CL-S=2 large time slip pics

2.000 60' time
13.3 @107.82

Well the time slips say it all. My first run of the day was the fastest MPH ever at 108.12. I recently ran 108.00 but today was 15 degrees warmer than that night so I'm quite impressed. I iced the car down for approx. 1 hour before my first run. Then ran it twice and iced it down again. My last run was the best EVER unfortunately I hit the rev limiter once or twice on the 2 -> 3 shift. You can see my MPH @ the 1/8 mile is almost the slowest of the day, despite an 1/8 mile ET that is much faster than anything else @ 8.619! I went on to run 13.309 @ 107.82 on that final run. 57 degrees out too! I really hope I get another chance at the track this season. I can almost taste a 13.2 ET.

EDIT: I'm car 121 incase you didn't figure it out.

The 60' felt great! I brake torqued to just around 1250 RPM. On the 3rd yellow I just dropped the hammer. No wheel spin, no wheel hop! It just went VROOOOOM and I was like, welp here we go.

Most were ridiculous drag cars. Old domestics. I ran against chuckstl ('00TL) and against a S/C'ed Civic hatch that was running mid 13's all day at ~104 MPH but on the last run he missed a shift and his time really suffered. I blew his doors off

Other notables from today:

Stock EVO 13.5@101
MB E55 (current gen) 12.60
MB E55 (last gen) low 13's
A few RSX's running low to mid 14's

You crazy, man. 2.00 60' is (sick!)
I do believe that that is the fastest 60' time ever done by a CL-S, but I don't remember what 60' allmotor ran in his 12.9 run. In any case, keep up fine

It was a heavily modded Z28. Not a street car.

Yeah I did hold 3rd through the finish line. I smacked the 3rd gear limiter everytime RIGHT AFTER I crossed the line. I guess it helped. My best 1/8th mile time was 8.61 on that last run. I think your car might make more torque down low than mine which really helps your times. I'm sure you'd run a 13.60 or less given the right conditions.

All season Pirelli's PZERO NERO M+S 225/45/17 I had them at 25psi

I go through the water box but I don't sit in it. I start my burnout at the very edge of it. Usually spin the tires through 1st and half of 2nd. Nice and sticky.

Thanks I take it easy on the street everyday. Running a few 1/4 mile passes really isn't that hard on the car. I'm not getting near the wheel hop I used to before the S/C. I used to launch at nearly 2500 rpm Now I either leave from idle or just barely over 1250 rpm. No extreme strain on the front suspension. The car usually gets plenty of time to rest between runs too. At one point I had it sitting in the back of the staging lanes for nearly 2 hours with three 7 pound bags of ice on it.

Very carefully.

I've made 150+ passes in the car and I still haven't figured everything out. I'm always trying different things.

I just wanna beat Matt's 13.2 before the I/C. We shall see

Hi, my name is Steve and I have a problem. I am addicted to the drag strip.
Seriously, do you live at the track?

Sweet times. It will be interesting to see if you can become the fastest CL at the strip after the IC.

I should have those vids up soon. Then you guys can see the beast in action, sort of.

Oh and there is a video of this run that will come soon. A guy from ClubRSX had his friend making vids that day. He's going to section out my runs and i'll meet up with him and I'll get it on CD or DVD. Then i'll just need someone to host! It's gonna be a small file. Afterall it was only a 13.30 second pass.

Looks like you got a winning approach . .

And my comments were for all those folks who always are giving you or someone else grief about not being able to turn the runs/times you do with these cars. :P

I mean . . . my last dyno was 196HP with the stock Icebox setup and I ran a 14.58 . . . just can't figure out why our cars produce such decent times with such LOW HP

Personally . . . I think most dyno shops don't really know how to dyno front wheel drive cars and or that the dynos just don't work out the same as for rear wheel drive cars. Who knows . . . . but we got the time slips and vids to prove it.

Now get your butt back out there and don't come back until you crack 2.0 in the 60 or 12.99 in the 1/4

Thanks Ruf. I got a good progress update tonight from Scalbert concerning the I/C. Hopefully installed before xmas.

EDIT: I also ran 14.51 with only the Icebox. I ran 14.1 @ 101 with all my N/A mods.
