Toyo Proxes sizing question
ok, given the fact that the 235/45/17's are prob the limit to what our stock rims can handle, lemme ask which u would choose...and i ask b/c i'm thinking perhaps the 235's would b too wide if u like to turn hard during fast driving:
215/40ZR17 87W
225/45ZR17 94W
the 235/45ZR17 94W's they offer don't have our rim width tho... the other 2 combos qualify with our rim width
215/40ZR17 87W
225/45ZR17 94W
the 235/45ZR17 94W's they offer don't have our rim width tho... the other 2 combos qualify with our rim width

I think there are tons of people run on 235/45 17s & 18s with no problem.

The only issue with the 235's is you may have problems alligning the wheels down the road ! Otherwise, you should not have any other issues. I too am on the fence about whether to get 225 or 235 Toyo's.....keep me posted !

I have 235/45/17 Toto TS1 tires and feel the car is very well planted to the gorund. I am totally stock, no springs, no sways. I even have a wierd theory that due to these tires being so damm sticky, my motor and drivetrain had to much tourque and caused my CAI mounting Brkt. to pop off the pipe durning hard cornering. Usually when you corner hard, your engine Flexes around in the engine bay, and if your CAI is fixed to the Chasis of the car, your creating a flexing issue here since the CAI is mounted to the throttle body and chasis (one side of the tube ius moving around in the engine bay, while the other side of the tube is tightened down on the chasis (which is not moving)

the design of the Xephyr CAI is much different from AEM...no brackets next to the throttle extension which allows some play in all directions...i used a J-hook by the filter that allows some flexibility, but the hook is positioned right above the intake, so the flexibility is side to side, not as much back and forth...with the recent problems with the brackets on the AEM's snapping off, maybe AEM owners can try and compensate by removing the brackets, either by sawing or torching it off, get a couple clamps and a J-hook, and try that instead...of course, it's only a suggestion.
