I noticed the torque converted changing its mind about locking up and not locking up in 2nd gear between 4K and 5K in 2nd gear.

Anyone see this behavior?

I normally see the torque converter lock up at WOT, but I've been watching the tach very carefully, and have noticed that the lock-up seems to be very "selective." There are times that an early shift from 1st with a mild step-off will un-lock the torque converter and I can watch the needle float up 1K rpms. If I didn't know better, I would think the computer was trying to get the revs onto the 5k-7k VTEC powerband...
