TL-S and CL-S rim theft on the rise?

I saw the second TL-S last night missing two rims in the middle of the night.

It looks like the theives pull up to the street side of the car and only take the two street side facing rims.

Both cars were left lifted up on OEM car jacks. The butterfly type?

How do they take rims without anyone hearing or seeing anything????

Would wheel locks have helped?

sucks

If somebody had an air tank and a good impact wrench the wheels could be removed in a matter of seconds.

Not all of them did. Some dealers include them some don't. Wheel locks are a dealer installed option.

I got lucky and have them on mine, but I'm sure that just stop teenagers from grabbing my rims. If a "professional" wants your rims, there is not much you can do to stop them (a shock sensor might help tho').

WILLDOGS - where in NYC are you located? There are many CL/TLs in south brooklyn and I've never seen or heard of them having the factory rims ripped off. Now HIDs, that's a whole different story.

Im up in the northeast bronx. I'm suprprised to see this happening around here cause it's usually pretty nice around here. None of that stuff happens in my area.

I'll probably see those wheels up on ebay in a few days..
