Tire troubles

I went to three local tire dealers to get Michelin Pilot Sport 205/50 ZR tires. No one will sell them to me. Each looked in a book of some kind and said that if they install these tires on my car there will be a 3% or degree difference, which means when speedo indicates 65 my actual speed will be 63. Due to liability issues they can not/will not sell these tires to me. Does this make sense to anybody? I figured I could order them from Tirerack and have an independent do the install but what if there is a problem with this size tire on the car. I would have a hard time driving WOT while thinking the wheels are going to fall off. What to do?

y get a 205-series tire???

stock size is 215, AND the stock tires offset the odo by around 3% anyway, so u would most likely cancel out the differences

i suggest u look at 215-series Pilot Sport and see if they'll install

i've NEVER heard of a tire place not mounting for u

CL-P has a 205 series tire... Do you have a CL-P or CL-S?

If it's a CL-P, I'm not sure what the bid deal would be???

Ok, I'm with you know... Looks like you have a CL-P, but want to go from a 205/60 to a 205/50 on a stock rim???

No big deal at all, except for the speedo. error.

Find someone else to do the work. I've never heard of someone turning down business because of what you're describing.

I have CL not Type-S. I guess that makes it a CL-P the stock tires are 205. I haven't a clue what these dealers are talking about. Monday I will try another dealer. Its never been this hard to spend money.

what they're talking about is the side wall height ...thats a big difference from the 60 to the 50...if i were you I'd be looking at 225/50/16 and you'll be very happy
