Tire tread depth

What is the depth rating when your tires are worn out? I just got my car back from the 7500 miles service and they said my front tires had 6/32 tread and the rear had 9/32 tread. I want new tires anyway, but I though these should last a long time. Only reason im worried is because I won't have cash for new rubber for a while.

if you don't have cash for new rubber then be a little easier on the launch and stop chirping into 2nd gear... I know how tempting it can be

Oh yeah, and don't forget to rotate dem tires.

Yea I have been driving easier, the newness of the power is wearing off

The dealer rotated the tires during the 7500 service

Just look at the wear bar in between the tire treads.

That's your indicator. When your tread is worn down to the bar, then it's definitely time to replace. Although in some cases, tires can start to feel unsafe before the tread is worn down to that point, and the tire should be replaced sooner.

i wouldn't worry about getting new tires yet because of tire wear. the stocks had 10/32 to 12/32 tread on them new. if you get new tires, do it for the upgrade.
