Tire Tread Depth

Nittos 235/40/18 555 come with new tread depth of 10.2/32 " now that is like 8mm only, I asked my wife to measure the remaining tread depth and it said it is like 5mm

Remind you i have those for like 33 kmiles 4-5 kmiles where on the snow tires... so say some 27kmiles and only 3mm wear?...
Is it the 5kmiles strict rotation I did? I thought I need tires by the spring time....

That great mileage, I assume the measurements were in/out/middle on all four? Rotation does indeed keep tire wear pretty even, 5K seems a little quick, 7-10K works for me. YMMV

I do 5k miles rotation cause it is free for the life of tire at the local townfair tire. The wear looks even on 4 tires. The 5 mm include the wear bars... so we sticked a ruler to the deeps groove and it read some 5mm.
