Tinting 14%. Tickected. Question

Well, it finally happened. After almost 2 years with the Car, Georgia State Patrol saw my 14% Coffin-Like Windows and Gave me a Ticket. I told the guy that I would gladly get it fixed and bring it to the judge to show him, but he wasn't biting. Really I had no leg to stand on. I did by the Car from a guy in Florida. I just never got the tinting taken off. legal in Ga is 32 %. Question now is, how hard is it to take off, should I try it myself, or have a shop to do it ???? Guess I'll go back on with 32%

Good news is: my Good Friend is the Magistrate at our Local County office. I actually took his place as Deacon in our Church when he left. I told him that I would get the Car fixed and asked him if there was anything he could do as far as the "fine" and keeping this off my record. This stuff affects your insurance too, sad to say. He told me that he would see what he could do. I'm optimistic about that but I need to get it fixed before I take it to either him or the Judge Next Month.

I've had 2 window tinting tickets in the past, but they were both warnings. I never fixed the windows. I guess that's why police more often issue tickets because warning just don't work anymore, people are willing to take the risk. That sucks, I hope your judge friend finds relief for you.

If the cop didn't make you take it off there, just pay the fine, & be done. Mail it in. Laws state to state are different, but I don't think it's any moving voilation, or points. I don't think a window tint ticket will show on insurance. Check you laws though.

when i got ticketed...took them off. Took it to a tinting shop and they did it in 30 minutes, he pretty much took an exact-o knife and peeled it off. I suggest you take it to a place instead of doing it yourself and messing up...lol

You can take it off your self. Just use some windex with Amonia and that would loosen it up. A warm glass will help. Dont use anything sharp on the back glass, dont want to damage the heating strips. I just removed tints from my g/f car couple weeks ago. So I do know what I am talking about. Amonia is the key.

Just pay the ticket and be done with it.

Na, think i'm taking the front 2 windows to Georgia Requirements and leaving the rest. That's what I've been told that matters.

After that, I'll await my Friend from the Court house, see what he says. I live right next to Freeway-- I-75. I can see going through this again in time.
