I don't understand why anyone would tint their front window.. Wear sunglasses if it too bright in the day... But when it comes to night time u should think about the fact u literally cannot see shit All. IMHO it's even stupider than tinting ur head lights.
It just annoys me when people choose looks over their own safety along with everyone else on the road around them.
I think front tint is also illegal in some places.
As for the rest of the Tint, Just beware the more u tint the more a cop can pull u over because of it. Sure it may not be illegal but you have now given the cop an excuse to pull u over and shake u down.
I personally hate bein pulled over cause its a waste of my time and if u by chance get a shitty cop on their bad day you have no idea what they may try to nail u with.
For example
My front licence plate got bent from a curb due to parking too close when pulling up. I got pulled over cause I have a cover over my rear license plate to keep it clean in the winter! The bitch cop was writing me a ticket for my front plate being tampered with, so I had to go off on a tangent about how all curbs are at a certain height and that's how it happened blah blah... Eventually she believed me.. She scoped out everything looking for another way to ticket me, honking the horn, signalling.... And that's all because I had a cover over the rear plate.
Now if I had tinted windows that were borderline too dark she would have gladly written me a ticket.
I think it's discretionary also, cause I don't believe they carry a meter with them to determine your exact tint... I may be wrong but still.
And if u drive state to state what are their laws?
My CL came with factory tint... Whatever that is, it's not much but it is a huge difference compared to the front window, the rear is done also.
My advice would be to get the least tint possible that u can live with, and that will be the safest route cause u can see more than if it were darker, and then u will be much less likely to get pulled over cause the cop has nothing better to do than use your dark tint as a way to pull u over. And who knows what u may be doing, maybe ur .01 over the legal drinking limit, or doing something worse, I don't know. But just imagine it was your own doing that got u fucked that one time u were doing something u should not be.

^ Disagree .
My white car had 5 on the rear , 10 on the fixed windows , 20 on the driver passenger , and 50 over the whole windshield and that is so my arm don't cook under the desert sun during 140 degree temperatures .
My silver car I wanted people to be able to see inside to check out my 6 speed and for when I eventually have nice Recaro's etc.... that's 50 on the windshield and 35 all others

Front tint is illegal in cali so I just have 50% on the front side windows. If I had to do it over again, I would do 35% in the rears and use Llumar AirBlue 80 for for the front windows and windshield. AirBlue offers excellent heat rejection for a near clear tint with still 99.9% UV protection. Def something to check out. I'm happy with it on my windshield right now.

Well I just had some Madico Charcool tint installed on my CL. I did 35% on the driver/passenger and 20% for the rest not including the front window.
Also, get a high quality tint. As in high quality film AND a good reputable installer. I had mine installed and the shop WOULD allow you to observe what was going on because it was an open garage/workshop. I say this because some shops do install CHEAP tints on vehicles when they advertise something entirely different.
Anyways, I think my tint looks great! At the shop they had a $400 tint, the Wincos IR, I believe. It had some pretty awesome heat rejection capabilities, you put your hand in a wooden sun-lamp box with Wincos IR tinted glass inbetween your hand and the lamp and the difference was major vs not having the Wincos IR tint and regular glass. I don't know how well it'll work in the real world, it's not like the sun is as close to you as the demo made it seem. I probably would have gone for it if it was within my budget.
Anyways, don't cheap out on a tint. They usually come with lifetime warranties. Also, you may look to the dealership to perform the job and if they're a reputable one, it should turn out good.

For me, 30-35% is a good balance.. 50% is legal here, but I've never been bothered in 15 years. :knock on wood:

The previous owner of my car put ~30% on the side windows and ~20% on the back window. Its just about right, except seeing the side mirrors while backing at night can be difficult, so i just roll the windows down. Other times its no problem. I personally wouldnt have put that much on, but Im fine with it the way itis.

If you're already getting hassled by the cops, then getting heavy tint is just giving them one more reason to pull you over. If you're trying to avoid police attention, adding an obvious illegal mod (depending on what state you're in) seems like a bad idea. Though it may be just a fix-it ticket, pulling someone over for heavy tint can be a pretext to look for other, more serious wrongdoing.

Just go with whatever is legal.
What bugs me is people who modify their headlights to be bright as hell and think it is funny when they blind other drivers.
Another issue is that the street I live on is so hilly that these cars with the new adaptive high beams can't turn their brights off fast enough going over the hills. These stupid adaptive lights blind me over every hill.
I am at the point where I have sunglasses on my face at night and flip them down every time I see a car coming to pass me. I live in a very high deer population area and seem to almost hit one every time I drive at night.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”
