I called my dealer today because this morning, my car had a light ticking underneathe my car.....toward the back. The dealer said it is an emission solinoid. IS HE FEEDING ME A SHIT BURGER, or telling the truth?

It was this morning when it was cold, but it went away after driving for a couple minutes. I've noticed a couple of times before though...ITS REALLY light, but you can still hear it sometimes.

I was told that's your engine cooling off, that ticking noise is either oil settling in the pan or your exhaust cooling off. That's what I was told by my neighbor, a mechanic/

Your mech is right if you had an 80's car...ours doesn't have that tick sound for whatever reason, rubber seals make less noise. I think there is something else, it could be a fanbelt warming or the car retaining the warm air to heat the engine for better performance. Carborated cars did a similar thing to retain heat in cold weather.
