Ticking Sound Under The Hood

Does anyone have a ticking sound coming from under their hood? It's almost similar to the sound the old diesel Mercedez cars would make. Please note that I said *similar* I know some of those diesel cars sound horrible. I thought it was coming from the belts, but after putting some belt dressing and thinking it would go away...it hasn't. Am I the only one with the problem? Any idea what it could be? It's a constant tick tick tick tick tick

I have it to. Dealer says its the fuel injectors cycling on and off but to me it sounds more like lifters.

Most likely either the injectors or the EVAP valve. It would depend on the location.

I have the same problem. Noticed it when I picked up my car. I was told it was the EVAP valve. They said there is no fix, they just tried to isolate ther sound and move it further away from the firewall.

No, if the car hasn't exploded by now the time bomb is a dud.

Maybe it's the ticker for the transmission explosion?

I have it. I notieced it more after the intake & headers. The dealers by me claim it's because of my mods & refuse to look at it any further.

it's the injectors. If you mod your car, it might be louder, cause there might be more fuel going into your engine. Scalbert?

The injectors certainly tick and could be them. But also the EVAP valve picks as it is duty cycle controlled.

As for more fuel at idle with mods, not really. Not enough to measure but regardless, modern injectors do have an audible ticking sound.
