To those who have had AEM filter replaced...
I just got my replacement filter for the one with the gaping hole in it.
Did they send you guys the nice metal K&N filter that originaly came with the CAI or a plastic AEM filter?
I got the Plasticy AEM filter and it is much less substantial than the original K&N filter.
If others got the metal K&N I will send this one back.

WHy did you have your AEM filter replaced? Did AEM replace it for free??? My AEM Short Ram filter has a hole in it from rubbing against the chassis and I was wondering if you had the same problem.

The early designs for teh cai was kinda long and was hitting the bottom plastic clip that holds the splashguard together(bottom plastic piece) so when the car was at WOT and the cai moved it would hit the plastic screw or the screw would suck up and eventually rip a hole in the filter.

Good call NOVA. That's what they told me when I called today. They also said it was made of better material that lasts longer.
When I looked at my current filter after about 8 months that thing was FILTHY!!!
I think I will keep the old one so that when I need to clean the new one I can just put it back on for a day.

Just look up AEMpower.com and call their contact number. Dial in extension 206 for Steve. He will take care of you.
JRock--she's runnin' well. Lovin' the cold weather. I'm getting the filter replaced at the dealer as we speak.
If you're up this way and want to grab some food or something give drop me an email and we can meet up. Also, I just saw another CLS at the dealer today with a great drop on it. It was much lower and more even than the Comptechs--looked real nice.

Wow, how are you online at the dealer?
I'll be up at the dealer 8am Friday morning, oil change and suspension needs to be quieted (been squeaking since it got cold out). Hopefully it won't take too long! (Do they have to take it all apart to grease it or whatever?)
