I called the other day and talked to 2 dealers. The highest was $329 and the other one was $295. The $295 one includes a wash and the other does not.

$300!!!! That's freakin' highway robbery! No way in hell should the 15K service cost that. That's a screw job for even the 30K service!! I paid $102.86 just yesterday at an independant Honda/Acura shop. My Acura dealer wanted $115 which did NOT include the transmission fluid change (another $30-40). 30K service is $180 at my local H/A shop

I had mine done yesterday at David McDavid in Austin, TX. It was supposed to be $212, but I substituted their "Quacker" State for Mobil 1 and they upped the price to $240. I was expecting something like $60, damn them....

You guys can claim the 15K service is needed, but I'm not falling for it. Sounds like a real waste of $$$ to me! I plan to have the tranny fluid changed and that's it. I've had four new cars since 1986 and have never done the 15K service, only 30K, 60K, and 90K.

I'm suprised that the trany fluid needs to be changed after 15k. Is that because of the SS? 30k is normal I think?

Are you cats nuts?? I think this is a bunch of service shop folks who are bored and need some business. The manual for a CL-S calls for changing the tranny oil at 90k miles. WHile you might do fine to change it a bit earlier, changing it at 15k is a crock of crap.

Tell ya what. I'll change it in my garage for $50 and do all the other required 15k checkup stuff included! Guaranteed!

Any reputable dealer would advise you to spend your money elsewhere.

Yeah--where did you guys come up with the transmission fluid change at 15k miles? The flyer my dealer sent me for the 15k service did not have any tranny oil change on it.

hahaah, this is hilarious. a transmission fluid change at 15K!!! hahahaaha. tranny fluid in cars these days are very long life. changing it isn't going to make your tranmissions smoother. change it when the honda engineers said to.

I didnt get my 15K service done...I didn't see a need for it. I'll get everything done at 30K. I just called Pohanka Acura to get my oil changed ($29.98), my sunroof de-squeeked (warranty), my state inspection (free), my paint inside the gas chamber looked at (they need to assess the paint), and my tires rotated ($19.99). I hope i didn't forget anything.

My dealer always washes and vacuums our cars when we get our cars serviced but today, i noticed that they towel dried it off and put the shiny stuff on the tires

If I were buying a used CL and the seller informed me that he skipped the 15k/30k/whatever service and instead decided to get an oil change at Firestone, I would run, not walk, away from that car. But that's just me.
