I think YES.

If I were to get an SUV, then I'd go with either than or the MDX. If I could afford the FX45, that'd be ideal. If not, then the 35. If I were on a budget, MDX. Even though I personally haven't had any transmission problems, I'm a little weary of Acura. Heard nothing but good about Infiniti, in terms of reliability and service.

The FX45 is awesome, but I don’t think I could live with it as an everyday vehicle.
First off it’s only AUTO and second the 15MPG city rating is quite low.
Get on it occasionally and you’re probably looking at a more realistic TEN or so.

The interior is much better then the 80’s styled G35, but it’s still not what I would be comfortable with in a 50K plus ride.

When i was looking at the G35c I sat in a fully loaded FX45. The interior of that car is awesome. The exterior isn't for anyone. Overall though that car is sweet.

The FX is a pretty sweet ride. AWD is coming in December, so if that's important to you and can wait...

The 35 would be plenty for me. The 45 comes with a nice price tag. I haven't driven one, but I've heard nothing but great things about them. Oh and they LOVE gas...

I saw an AD in my local paper yesterday and one dealer had THREE FX45’s in stock with 3K rebates and 1.9% 5YR financing.

That's quite a discount. I haven't heard too many people getting money off those things. They must be '03 models.

Not a bad vehicle but it has a few problems in my mind:

1. big exterior dimensions and weight -> poor gas mileage, not easy to zip around and park

2. very small cargo with the rear seats up, especially for a gas guzzler

If you need something sporty that can haul some cargo without people in the back seat, it's not a bad choice if you can afford the gas.

When I'm parking my friends think I'm crazy. But, the CL is longer than an FX, 4Runner, Pathfinder, Explorer, or a Dodge Grand Caravan.

The FX is pretty quick. Thanks for your input fellas

I was thinking about the g35 as well but the interior really turns me off. Its cramped and cheap looking.
The FX35 has a modified g35 engine =)

It's also 12 inches taller, and 700 pounds heavier than a CLS.

BTW, if it's interior you seek, get an A4 avant

The FX35 produces the same numbers as my G does. All Nissan/Infiniti did was change timing on this, add a CAI, better flowing exhaust... VOILA!!! You get one torquey motor.

Although, the car does weigh a porky 4000lbs. You need all the torque you can get.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the FX45 only marginally outperforms the FX35. But the 45 does pack DUBS stock.

Not a huge fan of SUVs but the FX35 is one of the best out right now. I saw a black one over the weekend on 20s it was gangsta.

get fx if you like suv.

i really like the orange/ light brown leather. exterior is awesome too! and i still don't understand why people don't like G35's or fx's interior. i thought it was fresh. MDX's interior is too boring for me..

It is a very nice car. But its cargo volume might not be as large as other LUVs.

EH......To me, its an identity crisis automobile. Its half car, half truck....I looks cool, but for the $50K+....I'd buy something else!

Have you actually been inside the FX45??

The interior looked and felt awesome. I'll admit the cabin wasn't huge but it didn't feel cramped and there was more then enough room.

The FX interior is cheap. Just look at it, the interior screams CHEAP!!!. Look at all of the low quality materials as a result of cost cutting. Get a grip, its a Nissan. ALL Nissan have cheap ass interiors

On a serious note, the only thing that bothered me when I saw it, was I'd expected it to be bigger than it actually was. I do like the touch that they added to the leather, by giving it a textured feel.

Is that the MDX interior??? That shit looks gross! Whats up with Honda and their wood trim? They always choose the most jacked up color combinations when adding wood trim. It would have looked better with the Silver trim like the new TL has.

For my money it'd be a tough call between the FX and the MDX. I'd probably take the MDX(minus that color combo) because it most likely will have a softer ride compared to the FX, and a little more cargo room (in case I need to haul stuff).

MDX looks too much like a minivan. FX looks more like a cruiser.

i was actually thinking about switching cars last month. The FX45 was on the top of my list but after thinking long and hard about it the FX is waste!
FX is a nice automobile but it is NO SUV!!!

want SUV? get an escalade or H2 or even a navigator

I would love to own a FX45 but if you really really think about it, how does the FX serves its purpose? you can only fit 5 people at most. Cargo is not big. you cant go offroad. its too big to be a sports car and too small to be a SUV

its between everything.

Buy this man a beer. The FX interior is no better than the Murano. For 35k, it's acceptable but for 50k for a FX45, I dunno.

FX is much newer and based on the G35 which is based off the 350Z so it will be much sportier than most all SUVs. The MDX is off the Honda Odyessy, a van. It's big advantage is space.

Buy him a beer too. It's a niche vehicle. For a select few people. It is vastly different looking than anything else, which is a big plus or minus.

Being an Infiniti, I'd wait 2 years when the price drops to 20k and buy one. It would be a steal then.

So which suv should he buy?
Almost all suv are built off another platform. I say if your going to do IT, do it big. FX45
If you get a Murano or FX35 everyday your going to wish you purchase the FX45.
Then fly by a few Acura/Lexus/BMW/MB.

its all a matter of personal preference, the interior looks fine to me. don't think any 50k and lower suv has that spectacular of an interior or an interior that puts the fx to shame, the toureg is probably best, but i don't think its that big of a factor between the two. as far as room, considering most suvs on the road only carry one person, think it would be fine. should be able to carry luggage for 5 well also. thats the whole problem, this mentality that people need to buy the biggest thing they can afford rather than what they need, yea get a yukon xl, thats it.
