Think I broke half shaft again, motor mounts are broken ~ Pics and details inside

So anyway, I was driving on Route 22 when I put my car in first and drive a few feet it started making clicks. Now I'm like WTF now!? Then after a minute after the clicks, she starts making snapping noises as I'm driving in first. I parked the car pulled the E-brake took off the wheel and started turning the right and left. There is alot of play it seems when I do this as I turn the left (Forward) after turning it right (reverse) the half shaft you can visibly see moves up and it doesn't seem right. Does this seem weird at all. Shouldn't the half shaft almost stay exactly in place when you reverse it put it forward and not actually move up an inch or 2?

Here are pictures of my motors mounts as well as well as the picture of the car how it sits now. The Tech at Acura said raise it a 1/2 inch and the vibration should go away. I'm really getting frustrated and just want it running smooth so I can boost this damn thing already.

nearly 40 views and no ideas?

My guess is you need cv joints and motor mounts.

CleanCL 10-01-2006 10:19 PM

motor mounts, buy new ones and fill them with polyurethane. that's what i did, do a search for my thread.

your half shafts, i think mine are shot too. only advice i can give is replace the whole axle assembly. it's money but worth it in the end. its like having a brand new front end. i believe you stated you already had both left and right half shafts replaced. and that didnt solve the problem. so its probably your axle assembly. as far as raising it up... i'm sure you have seen pictures of these guys dumped, and they never complained about issues.

Stealth CL 10-01-2006 10:37 PM

my shit shakes too, they replaced my front mount but it did nothing, so now were trying for the side one that has a tear in it....CLean do you think the techs at Acura can fill them at with the polyurethane?

we checked my axles, and 2 techs said they are fine, so im hoping its just my side mount.

CleanCL 10-01-2006 10:59 PM

i dont think acura will do it for you.

JBlueCLS6 10-01-2006 11:07 PM

they definetly wont.

That mount is toast I can see where it's torn. Replace that first, Then take it back to Acura & complain about the noises.

Stealth CL 10-02-2006 08:03 AM

oh yeah my mount is torn almost 180 degrees around. same as yours...right next to that nipple thing

CleanCL 10-02-2006 09:31 AM

remember to replace BOTH the front and side mounts.

CL Platano 10-02-2006 10:21 AM

Do the mounts? I told Jae about it and he said it may be your axles.

fuzzy02CLS 10-02-2006 10:25 AM

I didn't replace the front mount on my car. It looked fine to me. I recently inspected it when I had my bumper off & could get a better view. But I wasn't having problems your were. It may be worth it to replace the front as well. Then you can elminate that from the mix for sure.

Well I'm not coming out of pocket to repair these parts due to having the Acura Extended Warranty. I know for a fact that the motor mount is covered because it is listed and the dealerships stated it as well. The last time I went in they said the mount is fine but by looking at it, Can you guys say it is busted?

see the brown rust looking fluid everywhere? that's the hydraulic fluid inside the mount that has leaked out everywhere. clear evidence it is torn.

fuzzy02CLS 10-02-2006 12:40 PM

Make sure whoever replaces it cleans the area around the mount. This way you know if it leaks again.

Titand19 10-02-2006 12:42 PM

your mount is toast

JBlueCLS6 10-02-2006 07:24 PM

okay so they jacked up my car and put it into 4th gear and were getting on the gas... the Driverside Axle was bouncing up and down HARD like crazy all over the place whenever they accelerated.... they said they'll change the driver-side shaft again.

They also agreed that the mount was busted so I'm getting a new mount...

In Closing... I'm stuck with one slow ass TSX til Wednesday =(

Stealth CL 10-02-2006 07:40 PM

hmm maybe i should tell them to try that to my car.

Silvaccordex01 07-24-2007 02:16 AM

The side mount has fluid in it as well? I thought that was just the front? Does the front leak the same nasty brown fluid if its bad?
