What is a shock sensor, and how does it protect your HID's? I have Sylvania Xenarc HID's on my truck and I want to keep them from being stolen, b/c those lights are big business, esp. b/c they're aftermarket. Can I install a shock sensor to protect my lights?

A shock sensor comes standard with most aftermarket alarm systems. You install the system, and then if you kick the bumper, punch the window, or cause some other shock to the car, the alarm sounds.

The place I got my car from warned me about this but I've never heard of it happening until now.

Sorry to hear that.

Hopefully you'll catch his punk ass next time.

What kind of shock sensor does everyone have or thinking of getting...

I had a gargoyle installed and that thing only went off to an exhaust coming by... I could ram a Mac trunk into and it wouldn't go off...

I have all that installed in mine, and the car almost never goes off, unless so damn cat gets on the hood. But only goes off like once every few months. Mostly in my work parking lot from people hitting the bumpers. Also if someone sticks the hand in the sunroof it goes off.

My fathers friend from Brooklyn had his TL headlights stolen 3 times!!!

The worst part is that it's a freaking fortune to replace. He mentioned the bill was over $3k!!! due to the bumper damage and cost of replacing the HID system!!!
