I cant agree with buying the rims you already have. For 17s, our rims are very nice, albeit sorta heavy. If gonna drop some dough, get some nice light 18s that add to the look and performance. Get your moneys worth.

Thats just my .0235 cents.

17" weigh 13 lb, 18x8" SSR 15lb.

How can it be SLOWER if he is lighting his weight by around 30lb a wheel?!

He will be faster with lighter wheels.

The SSR Competitions are my dream wheel--I love em'

Im definitely leaning towards them! I may just buy the rims from them in 17" because I just found 225/40/17 Toyo T1s at tread depot.com for 148 a piece!

225/40/17
that's way too small 225/45 and you'll be awesome

one stock wheels weigh 26lbs give or take and the SSR's are about 14.4 in the 17/8 second it's not just the amount of weight removed but where the weight is removed from... the most effective area being out towards the tire..., by going to a lighter 18 it may end up with the same or similar weight out on the rim of the wheel...id say it would be faster but not as fast as it could be with 17s

Many Audi S4 owners had the SSR comptetitions, but had problesm with them bending when driving over bad stretches of road. They're not as stiff as the OZ's and with the weight of our cars, they'll bend easy at 18".
