But remember that the gains are not there always. Think of it as not giving power but rather not allowing you to lose as much power when sitting at idle. It just helps to keep the power you already had.

If you are crusing, there will be little to no benefit from this.

Which means that this would normally do nothing for you. By crusise I mean not sitting at idle.

Those spacers look fairly thick. Since the intake side of the heads face each other it seems to me that putting thicker gaskets in there would push the manifold up to a point where it would no longer line up. I don't see how this could work on a V6 either unless the gaskets used were very thin but that would kind of defeat the whole purpose of doing it.

Edit: After looking at the Helms it seems there is a dandy spot to insert one of these between the lower intake pieces and the plenum. Should accomplish the same thing. What are these things made out of anyway? I just got a new Dermel for Christmas.

That's the spot. Looks like an easy installation too. I would think one of these could be made easily. I wonder if the TB spacer would still do anything or be needed with the intake spacer?

Radiator fluid (coolant) is run through the throttle body to keep ice from forming there. This heat would spread to the intake manifold. If you don't live in freezing/cold weather the throttle body can be bypassed

The difficult part is making sure all of the ports are aligned otherwise you could introduce a flow restriction. Since I did the base plate for the intercooler there is no reason why the machine shop couldn't CNC some phenolic material They do already have the CNC program for cutting the ports and bolt holes.

Bypass the coolant flow to the VSA throttle?? If you bypass the TB you might as well bypass the VSA throttle. Especially in your part of the country.

The VSA throttle would be a limiting item as it is still in the path. However, I never took any measurements of it to know the size. If it is already bigger than the TB then no need; but if the same or smaller then it might be somethign to look at.

As for removing it; that could be done. In fact, you could just pull it out of the intake tract and tie it off below so no electrical tricks are needed to not set a DTC.
