The cars are light, and there are quite a few people out there modding them. He must have been pretty well modded to kill you. I'd say nice death, but its never nice to lose to a Cavi.

I'm sure there are websites dedicated to it, who knows, you may be in someones kill thread there. People go hardcore with them, just like some do with Civics. Engine swaps, turbos, blowers...

For what its worth, there are some track only cars running 8s in the 1/4. And thats with an auto.

Can you shift 4 times in 8 seconds? That's why some of the fastests cars out there are auto.

There are some modded Cavaliers out there, and we have one in our local car club. Not too fast, though.

The aftermarket support is not as crazy as Civic's, but it's there, with all kinds of stuff. But in the end, you're still in a Cavalier. :p

Yeah, there is no way you should have lost unless your car is:
1. Beat to shit
2. the cav was modded to hell
3. a combo a both

Cavalier? My Prelude (last car) didn't have a problem with a 2.2L...didn't realize there was so much support for that 1/2 @ssed Chevy car. Most Chevy people that I have me don't consider the Z24 even part of the "Z" family...assuming it was a Z. If the car is light (as someone said) and modded...dunno...stock, you are king.
