Y in the fuckin world would u want that. that will give u nothing. u can cut it down 1/2- 3/4" of an inch. any lower and it will hit the shift cover. its not like it gonna give u quicker or shorter gears. and with the glass trans no point on beating the fuck out of the car, i learned my lesson. now i drive like a middle aged man. easy on the throttle and let off the gas a bit between shifts, mainly 3rd

The threaded area under the knob is long and you can cut some of that, but be careful, not too much. I did that and now when I'm pulled back into first gear the knob is too low and too close to the cover plate.

Just put a shift boot on it like here:

https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-cl-1997-1999-56/carbon-fiber-vinyl-shift-boot-740444/

FYI that car is an auto, it just looks like a stick because of the boot.

only takes a hack saw if you are too cheap, or a dremal tool if you are too lazy to use a hacksaw

btw: i be too lazy and just use a dremel/cut off wheel
