themal painted intake elbow for CT icebox

OK now i know im gonna get some flak from this b/c I already asked opinions and was declined. But anyway me and my mechanic found a nice 1 piece aluminum tube w/ breather valves and all on it. Getting it coated with thermal stuff. I'll have pics up by next week. perfect fit in all ways. Ill let you know how it all tuns out! im a bit scetched myself but i kept the Ct piping and the whole job costed me around 80$ for parts and labor so it wont be a huge loss either way. wish me luck

Good luck. Try them both and see which is better. Run them for a while and see if there is a significant difference in the temperature of the tube. I'm thinking that the plastic will still be cooler.

i agree with the fact that plastic is abetter insulator but think about this(my mechanic pointed it out), once the engine bay reaches a certin temp, the plastic will heat up regardless, so it mite keep it cooler for a bit but once you hit core temp, it wont realy matter. thats a theory though so dont hold me to it.

my mechanic got it for me. it is actually a 2 piece tube, with breather valves. It looks great and makes wot sound a bit meaner. I cant realy feel a noticable gain but it definitly didnt get slower. CleanCL ill find out the piece for you. it was 80$ for everything needed. (clamps, sleeves, etc.) Im under the impression its a generic kit or something along those lines. Pics will me up probibly Tues. I'm gonna get it coated in a few weeks, hopefully along with my headers.
