Taflon coating paint protection

My dealer offered it to me for $200. It sounds like it's a good thing. But it might just be a waste of money. Does any one have it, and is it really worth it. I am thinking about putting it on. The dealership said that I'll never have to was or buff the car as long as I have this coating on. What do you guys think?

okay, for 200$ i'd take it. They will repaint the WHOLE car if let's say a bird shit's on it and it eats away at the paint.

I'd still wax and wash it, but the fact that they'll cover painting it if shit goes wrong makes it tits!

A little info for you here...

The product that they use will cost less then $5 for 1 car. The dealer usually charges about $500 for this service. So I guess you can tell that it's majorly labor. AND it lasts for like 6 months then you have to apply it again.

I personally would not get it, but my body shop that I go to it going to do my car for FREE!

They are saying that it has a 5 year warranty. I will still have to wash my car, but not wax or buff.

they say that if the color deterioates from the sun, or acid rain, or bird shit ruins the paint within 5 years, they will fix it for free. Are you saying it's all bullshit. I personally don't know, and that's why I am asking. I am just wondering why you guys are saying that it's BS, I am not saying that I don't believe you.

My CL has birdshit stains that ATE the paint, and have permenant stains there 4 ever! The only way to "fix" the problems is paint. I also have lots of blemished in the paint from tree sap and etc, that look like wet clud drops in the paint, but they are permanent as well. I would def get it! It doesn't cover chips on the hood does it?

No, it does not cover chips on the hood. It is strictly a paing protector.

My dealer coated the car with this secret suace (Maxxgard) for free. They also included free oil changes for the life of the warranty, loaner vehicle (Acura) with any service, I had the use of a TL when they put the Maxxgard on, And the price of the '03 CL with 9 miles was $26,700. Or a little below that price. As this is Oregon, there was no sales tax. They also include a touch up kit for the Maxxgard with enough stuff to do the int and ext of another whole vehicle.
