Question Syntheic Oil bad for high mileage engines??

I was doing a little bit of research and i found out many websites said that when using synthetic oil in a vehicle with high mileage the vehicle experienced leaking that would not occur with the use of regular non-synthetic oil. First of all i dont really understand exactly why a high mileage engine would leak with synthetic vs. non-synthetic. Also Have any of you guys with high mileage engines (75k or more) used synthetic oil and if you did was there any leakage that would not occur if you used non-synthetic oil.

I'm planning on doing an oil change pretty soon i already got a K&N oil filter so i would really appreciate an immediate response

Thanx Alot guys

Oh yeah have any of you guys used Lucas oil??? I know that it was created for high performance engines but i figured that it couldnt hurt for our cars?? Is it worth the extra $$$ or not

I was speaking with a friend who works at some auto parts store and he told me that synthetic will smoke less because it soaks into the seals and makes them expand. I would expect that would also cause it to leak less with the seals expanded. How the seals expanding would stop it from smoking? No idea.

122k+ miles and still using synthetic/semi-synthetic.. If the car has been run with non-syn its entire life I might be a little worried. I would try a few changes with semi-synthetic and see if there are any leaks before going to full synthetic.

I've only heard good things about Lucas oil.

I believe that leaking in high mileage engines when using synthetic pertains to use in older cars w/ high mileage and worn out engines. The CL doesn't fall into that category, so feel free to use it.

My car was running on non-synthetic for its full life (93k) i think that an immediate switch to full synthetic migh be risky so i'll take your advice ML03CLS and use semi-synthetic and if i see no problems i will switch to full synthetic later on

Would you guys recommend any Semi-Synthetic Oil?? Maybe a high-mileage semi-synthetic
I noticed that many of the really popular brands of oil especcially synthetic tend to not come in 5W-20
