switching between different brands of synthetic oil

I've been using Mobil 1 since the first oil change, the car has 57K miles. I got Amsoil oil and oil filter at a really good price, is it OK if I run Amsoil one oil change interval, and then go back to Mobil 1?
The reason I am asking is that Amsoil recommends an engine flush before switching to Amsoil from conventional oil. I don't think the same applies when switching between different brands of synthetic oils?

Im pretty sure that your safe and that you dont need to do a flush between diff types of synth oils. From Synth to conventional its HIGHLY suggested.

From the amsoil website - you should be fine.

"Is there a recommended procedure for changing to AMSOIL Motor oils?

There are no special requirements; however, in older vehicles or those with high mileage, it may be advisable to use AMSOIL Engine Flush first. This will ensure that the engine is clean and free of any accumulated contaminants which might have an effect on the service life of AMSOIL Motor Oils. In all cases, it is good judgement to install a new AMSOIL Absolute Efficiency Oil Filter (EaO) every time you change oil."

I think this advice is only for older vehicles that are switching from conventional oil to Amsoil. I don't think this statement should apply if the car is well maintained and runs on another good quality synthetic oil such as Mobil 1.

I also found this information on Mobil1 site:
------------------------
Q: Can different synthetic motor oils be mixed together?

A: Mobil 1 is fully compatible with conventional motor oils, semi-synthetic motor oils and other synthetic motor oils, should it be necessary to mix them. However, it is important to note that the superior performance of Mobil 1 will be reduced by diluting it in any way.
-------------------------

Not that I am planing to mix them, but there will be a small residue of Mobil 1 that will mix with Amsoil.... but I guess it shouldn't be a problem either.

I just had to buy Amsoil because it was part of large group buy at a discounted price.

the latest Amsoil claims its good for 25K miles / 1 year under normal driving conditions or 15K/1yr for severe driving. I change oil once a year now since I only drive like 9-10 K miles a year.
