swaping type s engine in base
I plan on swaping to a type s ecu but don't have one yet.
Should I run my base wire harness for now or already install the type s harness ?
I have both harness's.
Will I have a problem running either harness's with either ecu ?
And what the cheapest way for me to get a type s ecu in?
Can I just buy a ecu and have my key matched to it?
Or should I buy a whole matched setup?
Thanks,

^^^ see if you can buy the JnR ECU and then plug it into your stock ECU and tune it....
this way you will be able to retain all the functions and you will be able to tune ur car....

EDIT - I think calling it an expensive piggy-back is a bit harsh. But I do think its overkill for the 2G.

I dont know everything there is to know about the J&R ecu, but it seems to me as though its an expensive piggy-back. Its great for the 3rd gen guys since theres not much on the market for you, especially since it retains drive by wire and canbus communication (because the stock ECU is still in place). But for the 2G guys, its expensive. We dont have canbus communications in our cars. We dont have drive by wire. We dont have widebands stock. An AEM EMS costs less then that and has the same, if not more functionality.
