Probably the MDX or the new Honda Pilot based on the same platform for a little less money. I currently own a 97 Blazer that has run well but doesn't compete with Honda quality. Gm offers 0% financing which makes the new trailblazer a lot cheaper to purchase up front but resale is not as good.

Had a Jeep Wrangler. Was fun as hell until it flipped. I always wanted a Defender. Those are awsome. But i don't think i could call either an SUV. AS far as the list LAND ROVER or GC are real SUV's. Take em anywhere in style and comfort!!!

Lets see....
Trail blazer, & JGC are american junk
Jeep wrangler is not pratical. No storage, & small
PathFinders have too many problems
Land rover is too expensive for what you get
That leaves the 4 Runner. I would get that out of THOSE choices.

If they build it, the 400HP Envoy (the new Typhoon)!!

A 400 HP / 400 lb/ft DOHC variable valve timing twin turbo I6 from GM That should easily be pushed to over 500 HP and the same in torque. What gets me is that it had a higher skid pad rating than the CL??

Since you don't have the MDX, X5, or Escallade on the list, I voted for the Pathfinder.... that thing is hot too, and cheaper then the ones I listed above.

While I still have some of the same sterotype as you (American cars being crappy), they are coming a long way. In addition, a lot of foreign cars (cough, Acura's, cough) are being built in the US. While they're not UAW plants, they're still American workers. I think the quality has evened out a little bit. Don't get me wrong, I stand by my choices on Page 1, but the Trailblazer is a sweet truck and from what I've been reading... hasn't had to many problems.....

I would have to say an escalade, rx300, or an x5. I probably cant afford any of them though, so in that case I would go with a trailblazer.

Black MDX or X5.....I'm so partial to the MDX though....

My big issue with SUV's is you see them EVERYWHERE!!! It's rediculous.

speaking from personal experience, I would say 4 Runner is a awsome SUV. It's got enough room to do everything i wanted, plus it's not that big on gas, for a SUV that is. The greatest thing about the 4 Runner is that it's safe. I crashed my doing 70, an old lady ran into me from the other side of freeway that has no medium. I walked away unscratched! But now the MDX has came out, I don't know... that also seem like a really good buy

Porsche makes a SUV!

and WHY WOULD ANY OF YOU VOTE FOR A CHEVY TRAILBLAZER!!!!!!!!!! what a piece of PLASTIC junk! and overpriced on top of that

JEEP! LAND ROVER!

common....

The Acura is just a diced up car, cheezy 4wd... the Jeepys and the Rovers would do all sorts of stuff the others in that list would fail miserably at...

Hmm... V8's ... real 4x4's... but most just use them as their daily drivers anyway... so i guess is doesnt matter anyway... I bet 95% of all SUV's never go off road in the US.

An Escalade is the biggest piece of MONKEY CRAP on the market.

Escalade recipe:
1. 15k Silverado
2. 1 camper
3. new edge front and rear and Tahoe sides
4. fake ugly cheap Zebrano wood
5. 4x8 badges proclaiming how dumb you are

and sell to the public for 50k and make 30k on EACH TRUCK sold...

Escalade EXT is even sorrier MONKEY CRAP:thumbsdn:
