supercharger installed...

I just installed the charger and hi-boost pulley kit and it felt great. But after about 30 minutes on the road the car started to stuter and it shut off on me mid drive. Than when I tried to turn it back on the engine shut off and the check engine and TCS lights came on. I brought it to Acura and they gave me a diagnostic and told me the car was running way too lean and that half the cylinders were misfiring. My buddy who is a mechanic there told me to go out and get a standalone unit to better deal with the fuel map and also to get a new fuel pump. Can anyone help me out and also tell me which stnadalone units will work in my car???

You don't need a stand alone, no one has needed a stand alone yet, even the turbo'd guys.

Are your ESM connections soldered on, or are they the other connectors?

While your at it check the ESM to see if it is set to the correct voltage. It is preset by Comptech but when I checked mine it was off.

Something is not installed properly. I'd put money on the FPR.

SOLDER them...
I have over 30k miles on my SC. However, after the first 2k miles my car developed a serious mis-fire issue. It turned out to be bad ESM to ECU connections where terminal splices were used. After CompTech soldered the connections, problem solved.

More problems

I went to the shop today and they soldered the connections and also saw the ESM and made sure it was the right voltage. I even went to Acura and my buddy gave me a full diagnostic and told me that there should be no problems now. I gave it the gas and it was smooth as hell. Much better than before, but after about 2 hours it flashed on again and I could feel the cylinders misfiring. I got an oil change and everything and even disconnected my NOS from the car. I don't know whats wrong, but I cant goto my buddy everyday to get this thing fixed. What could it be???

Did they do a good soldering job for all the connections. A bad solder joint can cause a problem too.

Yeah they do great work. The shop has some signature cars and motor swaps are big at this shop (240sx w/RB26, 350Z w/ SR20DET, IS300 w/ 2JZ). I've trusted these guys for a while now and they wouldn't stear me in the wrong direction. So what else could it possibly be???

I would suggest going through all the necessary steps of the installation again. Its either mechanical or electrical, I dont think a standalone or a piggy back can help you when your vehicle is shutting off like this. What kind of code is it giving you other than lean condition? Because you are running a high boost pulley that means your fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator and injectors need to be up to par. If all of those units are working correctly and under boost your fuel pressure does rise then its electrical for sure.

FPR maybe??? That would account for the car running too lean.

You don't NEED a stand alone. Period. Something is wrong with the install. Dozens of us are running the kit just as it comes out of the box with out problems.

Oh and just because they can swap a SR20DET into a 350Z (although why would you? ) doesn't mean they know shit about installing a supercharger on an Acura... even if the install is basically "bolt-on."

Actually the sr20det swap into a 350z is popular these days because of the drifting scene. That is the only reason someone might want to do that swap, its a high revving motor and its much lighter than the vq.

I have the same issue. I will check my ESM anyone have issues

like i said super chaargers are fun but i have lived with one on my car for oveer 20000 ml.< and im still wandering how long mine will last , butt intell then ill rock on tell my wife comes home

There have been a few high mileage chargers out there. One member had his on for 70k+ miles.
