Sumitomo's in snow??
Hey, has anyone driven with Sumitomo HTR+ in the snow. I'm wondering if these tires are too aggressive for NY winters( pretty mild lately). I have the stocks, so have to be better right. I drove the Saab in about 1-2 inch unplowed snow and I was BAD, I sliding everywhere, abs kicking in everytime i breaked. It has Michelen Pilot Primacy, nothing special but much more aggresive than our stocks. This made me start to doubt the Sumitomos as they are a high perf. tire. Thanks, also is it better to stay in the highest gear, with low revs, or vice versa for snow.

I am getting the HTR+ put on this weekend - I'll let you know how they are. People here had good things to say about them (do a search) and there are some reviews out on the web that were very good as well. Tire Rack has them for $89, Disount matched the price + $20 (mounting, balance, warraanty etc) for me.

I have the HTR+ in 215-50-17 and last night we had 5" of snow. Today the on the trip to work i was very impressed with them. The roads for horrible and i didnt have any problems at all. The only time i lost any traction was in the parking lot at work going through a small pile of snow that i had to go through to get into the lot. These tires are a million times better than the stock ones.
